Ranking the best quarterbacks in BYU history
For the Cougars to have a special season, they need big-time play out of their quarterbacks, and that is exactly what they have gotten over the years. In fact, the legacy of the quarterback position at BYU has been one of greatness. Ref. Source 7
BYU overcomes mistakes, downs UConn, 30-13, to halt 2-game losing streak
BYU overcame a bunch of mistakes and snapped its two-game losing streak by pulling away from the Huskies in the fourth quarter, 30-13, before a crowd of 56,393 at LaVell Edwards Stadium. Ref. Source 6x
Commentators from last night's game were saying how BYU has had all their tough matches early in the season.
The first two games could have gone in favor of Nebraska and/or Boise State. Banking on a Hail Mary isn't talent or skill, just blind luck.
The UCLA game was lost to the follies of inexperience as BYU had the lead for the game through the most of the 4th quarter.
Michigan was the only game (In my honest opinion) that was well beyond their reach. In fact I am beyond amazed that BYU held Michigan scoreless for the 3rd and 4th quarters.
UCONN is a midrange team. Their program is rebuilding and much like BYU, struggled through the game. The calls in last night's game were sketchy at best and the offenses and defenses of both teams waxed and waned at awkward times.
Give it up for the Freshman Quarterback. The Senior Quarterback in rehab knew his team, Mangum had only had a few hundred reps and is developing familiarity with the team.
The last few games of the season should be quite interesting. The prospects for the following three years look really good.
