Pirated Movies

Wow, a pirate will go through a lot just to get a boot leg copy of a film. What makes it worst is those that support the trade.

From CNN:

FILMS ALTERED TO FOIL CAMCORDER PIRATES

Hollywood sends enforcers with night-vision goggles into movie theaters and
puts metal detectors outside advance screening rooms, but still the industry
can't stop pirates from recording films. So the movie industry is trying to
fight back with a high-tech solution of its own.

I agree that pirating movies is wrong.  All the ones I've seen are terrible quality because they have to use a hand-held camcorder to record from the screen.  You can even see people walking back and forth in front of the screen.  Just so you know I've never bought one.  I download the few i've seen(not worth the time at all) but I'll never waste my time doing that again).

I have a friend that buys the pirated movies.  She thinks that it's better than going and seeing it and paying the theater prices to see it.  But I think that the quality of them is just terrible.  It is out of focus, audio is garbled, and just plain crappy.  I wouldn't never buy any pirated, or burned copies of movies, because I wouldn't want the disappointment of the bad qualitity.

Not to mention it is illegal.

Someone I know got Titanic like that is was very poor indeed and what's spending a few extra bucks, or rent it out or by it previously previewed, like alot of the ones I bought.  Or better I wait to they go to this one theater, that is only 2.75 a person.

What is the big deal to see something before everyone else does? I would much rather see the movie in good cinema quality rather than in a primative little box.

I've been to the movies twice in the last two years...yep The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers.  I anticiapte going once in the next year (The Return of the King).  Part of that is because many of the movies I want to see never play in the small town in which I live LOTR was worth the drive.  Some don't come to blockbuster.  So I was tempted to download one once because it was the only way I would ever see it.  (It's not even on Netflix) But I didn't.

I find it frustrating that they don't do more to provide legal access to products when you're willing to pay.
