He actually broke his leg! That must be really painful. He has to go to some sort of inauguration on January 5th, I wonder if he will use a wheelchair? He needs surgery but it seems like he does not plan to schedule one right away.
More Schwarzenegger tapes released
Recordings of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger reveal the Republican griping about Democratic and Republican lawmakers alike and expressing sympathy for Mexican immigrants, but saying they should embrace the United States.

It's interesting that portions of the tapes were "leaked" when the whole thing can be accessed from a public part of the Governor's website. So, why is it such a big scandal to "leak" something that's already publicly available? Political maneuvering.
This is the latest with Arnold. He went to Canada and lit up a Cuban cigar...you may see but Cuba ships cigars to Canada legally, that's correct but US citizens are prohibited from buying Cuban cigars anywhere in the world.
Check the answer of one of his assistants:

LOS ANGELES - Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger fired up a stogie during his trip to Canada this week, but did he break U.S. law to do it? The celebrity governor known for his love of premium cigars was headed to the Ottawa airport Wednesday when his motorcade made a detour to a hotel. There, Schwarzenegger picked up a Cuban Partagas cigar in a shop, with the $14.83 bill paid by an aide traveling with him, the Ottawa Citizen newspaper reported. Under trade restrictions, U.S. citizens are prohibited from buying Cuban cigars anywhere in the world. Schwarzenegger's office wouldn't confirm or deny that the governor indulged in a forbidden smoke while in Canada, where he was on a trade mission. "He stopped and bought a cigar and smoked it on the way to the airport," spokesman Aaron McLear said. Was it a banned Cuban cigar? "There's no way of telling now because he smoked it," McLear said. |
Actually that is the kind of smooth answer you can only get in politics. However, I am sure when he gets back to California no one will let him rest without giving a true answer. It goes to show you - vices never leave you 'good' in the end.
I'm more disturbed by the fact that he paid nearly fifteen bucks for a cigar than the fact that he bought contraband.
And, if the spinmasters get really slick about it, Arnie didn't pay for it; his AIDE paid the bill.
