[movie] The Cider House Rules

The Cider House Rules

This movie surrounds an orphanage managed by a doctor and some nurses. they manage to get by on meager means. It is very sad, but plays true to life in many of the scenes. It even brought me to tears. If you have not seen it you are missing out.

I've only read the book. Awesome story. In the movie does Rose Rose kill her father? I'll have to check my theater to see when it comes here.

That was the daughter that was abused by her father? I cannot remember, I think he killed himself. It has been a couple of years since I have seen it.

Rules House Cider movie

According to the book, Rose Rose was being sexually molested by her father, and became pregnent by him. He taught her how to use the knife as skillfully as he did, and to prevent him from sexually molesting the daughter she had by him, she killed him using the knife that he taught her so well.

It might have gone down like that, but when you watch it on video you can tell us if it is similar to the book, but if it is or isn't the movie is still a classic display of life.

Oh I agree, I love the book. I have read it three times, and when I found it in hardback I bought it so I could read it even more. Paper back books don't hold up well to multiple readings like hardback do.

What do you like about the story so much that you would read it again and again? Reminds you of something close to home?
