Is there a religious reference in the Matrix that refers to the Bible?

I never could understand the need of preachers to find common ground between movies / fiction and the Bible. Its like if there aren't enough stories in the Bible to give a message. Its hardly likely that when the Matrix trilogy was being created that they were thinking, [I]Let's see how we can make this just like stories from the Bible...." rolleyes.gif

I think they are using the movie because most teens know the movie better than they would a story from the Bible and I guess the end result is the point of the story more than the story itself. That's just my take it doesn't matter to me either way.

As Krusten said, whatever works to bring across the real message then that's the important part. The Matrix movies is just another conduit for that message.
