Well of course, but not in every situation. For instance if you were to do still photography that did not require you to show teeth then it would not matter. I guess it is all based on the needs of the photographer and/or publisher.
I think that it is important to have good teeth. I have a gap inbetween my two front teeth and slight top overbite, but it isn't really that bad. Many people say that they can't even see or notice it until I point it out. One of these days, I will be able to afford braces or a retainer. The dental insurance we have doesn't cover adult braces. :( I like to dream of walking the runway, but I would be happy with still shots with me smiling slightly.

Do you know you can get that gap between your teeth fixed in one visit to the dentist?. Check in your area for a 'Cosmetic Dentist' they specialize in those kind of things, if your overbite is not that bad then they can use Porcelain Veneers (all this in the cosmetic dentist). Don't ask me the prices don't have idea, but it will not hurt to ask ;D
Braces are also a cheaper option, I cannot wait to have mine!

Good luck to you on getting your braces. :D I will check into finding a cosmetic dentist, but it will probably cost me about the same for either or. The dental insurance Shady has sorta bites, because they doesn't cover stuff like that unless it is considered necessary. :
My oldest child, Sylvanna has very bad teeth. We have state paid insurance on her, because she is not Shady's child and there is ton of paper work involved, anyway, moving along with the story. ;) Not many dentists take the state assisted insurance. She had a few cavitites that we supposedly filled, but were not and her teeth started to decay. Last year, I took her to a different dentist. He referred her to an oral surgeon for kids. The waiting list to see this surgeon is almost a 6 month wait. We have been waiting almost 1 year for her to get in to see a specialist to get her teeth fixed. Going to take her to the dentist again tomorrow, hopefully, he will get the ball rolling for her to see the specialist soon. Of course these are her baby teeth, but I don't want her bad teeth to ruin her permanent ones that will come in later on.
Yes, I think that caring for their teeth at that age is very important, very few people really takes the seriousness of it but I suppose like me, not everybody is able to afford a dentist and all the stuff that it involves but I hope to be able to do it soon. I always check Felipe's teeth and how they're growing, so far, they are all white pearls ;D but I will definetly keep an eye on that.
About the insurance thing, yes I understand! : some people do not think that dental health is really important :
I found this article about the methods of Teeth Whitening and thought this might help those looking for to have that pearly white smile. ;) I've enclosed the link, cuz it had a lot of good stuff on the webpage.
Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening is ideal for patients who have healthy, unrestored teeth (no fillings) and healthy gums who would like a brighter smile. Patients with yellow tones to their teeth respond best. But this cosmetic procedure is not recommended for everyone.
