Beyonce In Trinidad - Page 2

It's funny how people are always complaining (including police) about lack of men in the force to fight crime, yet Carnival time or some sort of party event and all of the sudden there are by the hundreds. rolleyes.gif

Approximately 500 security officials will be guarding Beyonce and patrons on concert night.

The local event will be the superstar's last live performance for 2010 according to the Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT), promoters of the event.

Operations Manager at LAY Management, Geoffrey Lake, said discussions to ensure a safe and successful event have been ongoing between the company and Assistant Superintendent Don Lezama of the Belmont Police Station.

Speaking to the Express at the venue yesterday, Lake said approximately 300 police officers and 200 private security personnel will be working to ensure safety inside and outside the venue of the "I AM Beyonce" concert.

LAY Management, owned by cricket icon Brian Lara and football superstar Dwight Yorke, was hired by TSTT to manage the coordination and logistics associated with the event infrastructure such as no parking restrictions around the Queen's Park Savannah from 7 a.m. On concert day and a wrecker service...

Comments: Although Beyonce's performance at her concert in Trinidad was good, the experience at that concert was the worse. The lay out for that concert was the most asinine contraption one could have created. I was so disappointed. I cannot say that I enjoyed the concert. It was the worse experience especially after having paid $1000.00 for a ticket. I saw nothing, VIP had to watch that concert on a screen and you could not have seen the stage at all. It was terrible. Patrons were taken advantage of by TSTT and we straight out robbed because they got nothing for their money and the amount they spent to attend. I will never attend anything TSTT is having again. NEVER!

Seems like there is a lot of complaints about the Trinidad Beyonce Concert. TV6 said they were only allowed 90 seconds of footage and then they were asked to leave. Many complaints from the VVIP and VIP not getting their money's worth with bad toilets, having to line up in long lines and a small viewing screen. Now one second, people paying for the Beyonce Concert did not actually see Beyonce, they went there to watch a screen? On the other hand there were no complaints about the Beyonce performance and it seems she even adjusted one of her songs in order to make it fit the local Soca Music.

That's right. People who paid almost $2,000 in a VIP ticket saw her through a big screen TV! The VIP section had no lights and people were stumbling at each other and the place was DIRTY!

Beyonce In Trinidad

I read in the Express that the facilities at the show were truly horrendous. The people in general admission were not able to see the show AT ALL. They could only see each other and the big screen tv's were so low they couldn't see a thing despite the fact that thousands of people were asking to raise them up.

The floor was not covered so there was an incredible amount of dust, there was NO water, electricity or toilet paper in the bathrooms and the food court was RIGHT NEXT to the bathrooms!

Comments: We're petitioning TSTT for a refund for the Beyonce concert. We did not get to see anything and weren't even informed that we couldn't see anything AT ALL! I wouldn't have paid money and taken time to dress and go out with my crew just to end up hanging out by the food court because we couldn't see Beyonce.

Good luck with that one Collins! I just heard the TSTT representative on TV6 News giving a whole bunch of excuses. The truth is that people will complain for a while and then forget all about it and TSTT know it.
