Band and Orchestra
I have been brought up with instrumental music. Orchestra usually includes classical music with a full compliment of the String sections and percussion. Bands is pretty broad. A stage band may consist of brass, saxes, percussion, guitar, bass and some woodwinds. A concert band may be full instrumentation but without the strings. More on brass and woodwinds. All tend to cross over for various needs! Marching bands are stringless usually! Heavy on brass, percussion and woodwinds! Pit Band for plays and broadway can be a small segments of strings, brass, woodwind, percussion. That is my take on it!
