Sigh, for me the one the only true James Bond is Sean Connery. Brosnan is very good and Dalton was adequate, I don't want to talk about Moore. As for sexiness, all Connery has to do is speak and my knees go weak. Brosnan is sexy too but for me he will always be Remington Steel.
Sean Connery was (IMHO) the best character, with Pierce Brosnan running a close second. However, I always felt that Roger Moore brought a tremendous sense of "class" to the role.
I was REALLY disappointed with Timothy Dalton acting as James Bond.
Now, how could any of us forget David Niven and Woody Allen? (Casino Royale)
I really like Pierce Brosnan as James Bond, but I may be biased as I grew up watching him in Remington Steele. However, I have been watching a lot of older Bond movies recently and I must say Roger Moore did a very good job as well. I've read this discussion and the consensus seems to be Sean Connery, but I am a guy, and I think Connery appealed to most of the ladies (my wife included). I would rate the Bond actors in the following order:
Pierce Brosnan
Roger Moore
Sean Connery
Timothy Dalton (he was horrible, plus he will always be Edward in Jane Eyre in my eyes)
I am a huge fan of the James Bond Movies......and why not? No other character in movie history has spawned so many sequels.
If Wishes could come true.....the Ultimate Bond would be.... Sean Connerys acting with Pierce Brosnans face, and Roger Moores British-Bondish attitude. **
( Lets just forget Timothy Dalton as Bond altogether )
Overall though I have to give dual votes for the place of prime Bond to Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan. I wish Brosnan would do more Bond movies to further cement his title as "007", but the actor has said that he will only do one more Bond movie because he feels he is getting too old for the part. ( Curses on NBC Television for keeping him from taking on the mantle of James Bond sooner ). The first Brosnan/Bond movie was a bit too wishy-washy and politically correct for my tastes; although the most recent "Die another Day" hit the nail right on the head in terms of action, stunts, espionage, and roguish charm with the ladies.
To me, the best James Bond was Roger Moore, I think that he was an excellent actor in these movies, and brought humor to them too.
The worst one has just got to be Timothy Dalton, what a drip!
Although, Pierce Brosnan was pretty good too.We are James Bond fans in our house, and I'm still not convinced how the new James Bond with Daniel Craig will work out, I suppose only time will tell..
