The Abomination of Desolation is supposed to be the siege upon Jerusalem in the future. Considering there were many sieges upon Jerusalem in the past do you think that the term "Abomination of Desolation" also refers to past events?

I believe the abomination of desolation refers to the desecration of the Jerusalem Temple by the Anti-Christ just prior to the Lord's return.

Comments: Like most prophecy it carries a dual meaning and applies to more than one instance in history. The first instance was probably fulfilled by Epihanie iv.

The final application I believe covers 4 key end time events.

The first manifestation should be a spiritual one described in 2 Thessalonians where the Son of Perdition sets himself up in the Temple as though he were God. This would mirror Epiphanie having desecrated the Temple by having a giant statue of Zues placed in the Temple to be worshiped.

This scene constitutes what will occur to cause the separation of the righteous and the wicked among the members of the Lord's Covenant.

The second instance of A of D should take place as a physical desolation that comes as a Nuclear Holocaust first launched at the USA by the King of Latter Day Asyeria ( Russia), a 13 month war in which a third of the world's population is eliminated. This is described as leaving the land behind them as a desolate waste in the light of this physical holocaust.

The third instance may be referring another spiritual manifestation concerning the Kings of the East and the evil spirits that entice them to make their move upon old Jerusalem at the Battle of Armageddon.

This would take place after the USA had been neutralized by Russia and the survivors in Europe, along with the Kings of the East, attack Russia and bring his victory to and early close.

And the final physical manifestation to follow that would be the wake of Nuclear disaster brought on by the Lord Himself as the Jews are about to be annihilated by the Lord amassed against them. Christ causes confusion among them as in the days of Gidion and they turn on each other.

There is a common misconception concerning the final events that are mainly focused on old Jerusalem being the primary focus of this last great war. When in fact, it begins the with New Jerusalem established by the Lord's Covenant People here in the USA and the pattern repeats itself one final episode with the Kings of the East attacking Old Jerusalem. But is all apart of the same war.

Armaggedon is merely the final battle of that war.

The Abomination of Desolation applies to both a Spiritual & Physical aspect of that description and repeats the pattern twice as far as I can tell.
