Too Much TV Sex!
Looking at the statistics it is amazing how television has gone from a nice family resource to a filt show.

TV's non-stop sex talk adds issues to the mix -------------------------------------------------- Television still talks incessantly about sex, but the perils of sex are a growing part of the conversation. So says a biennial study of sex on TV, released Tuesday in Hollywood by the Kaiser Family Foundation. The survey found that of shows airing from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. on a range of network, independent and cable channels last season, 64% had some sexual content, from kissing and touching to talking about and engaging in intercourse. That proportion increases among prime-time network shows (71%) and the top 20 shows among teens (81%). |

TV shows ONLY what the people wanna see |
Even saying that in my mind is an understatement... these advertisers use the slogan sex sells a little too much for my peace of mind..whilst I know many who love ads etc with a little sex thrown in I myself feel very embarrassed when even a simple thing such as a bottle of shampoo cannot be advertised without serious sexual overtones I am sure that almost everyone has seen the herbal essences advertisement with the woman in the shower..wow if I wasnt so black when I saw that id have turned red looking at that with my grandmother and uncle who are way older than I am ..lets just say that I left a trail of smoke when I left the room when that ad was showing... now I'm embarrassed to watch anything on tele with older folks around..I was brought up to respect them and I have no shame in sayin that sometimes I am terribly embarrassed to watch tv with them ..for fear of an even more graphic movie or ad showing...we don't have any children at home thank god cause I don't know what id do then..I mean its all and good for them to know about the world but to be exposed to stuff that shows during prime time or all the time that have so much sexual content I don't think I want any child of mine to grow up that fast...thank u very much....
In my house during the hours of between about 5:30 pm until bedtime on weeknights, and most of the day on weekends our set is tuned to mostly one of the Nick or Disney channels. Not only do I have a problem with exposing my kids to cheap exploitation of adult intimacy, I highly object to the overabundance of violent content as well.
I do think that far too many sex scenes are shown on the tv these days, even in programmes or films that are supposed to be mild family programmes.
It's amazing that they can be shown at any time in the day, and this was brought home to me today when I was watching what was supposed to be a mild family film, and my Son came in and stared at the tv asking me what on earth I was watching? When I actually thought about it, I realized that what they were showing could actually be misinterpreted by somebody who had just walked in, thinking the worst!
Sex and Television: How America went from 'I Love Lucy' to 'Playboy Club'
As years go by, shows cross more taboo lines. Sex-scenes, even sleeping in the same bed, were once verboten on any hour of network television, but they are now everywhere, even during prime time, when many children are watching. Ref. Source 2
