I'm glad I don't have a TV or watch much network broadcasts anymore. I've always hated Jay, I hated him when he was doing commercials for chips, standup, guest hosting, or whatever - he's like an obnoxious morning DJ that thinks he's funny (I realize that's redundant). I saw his debut episode, where he was babbling about Jamie Lee Curtis sweeping a dirt floor or something equally imbecilic - and there were NO laughs.
I enjoyed Johnny Carson and don't know what he or anyone else saw in Jay Leno of all people, and I silently applauded his leaving the show, regardless of who took it over, and I thought Conan was a good choice, to update it and modernize it, as it should reflect what the appropriate age group watch, though Conan is a bit beyond what some older people might like, but then I think for his time, Johnny was too.
NBC's decision to put Jay BACK in charge is hilariously demented - "Gee, his own show tanked so bad we've got to cancel it immediately... I know, let's give him the Tonight Show again, that should fix everything."
If Conan's mad about his pay getting lowered significantly or something, I can see his complaint, but if they're just moving him to after midnight and he's mad about that, then pfft. I agree it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to move the Tonigh Show, established for like 50 years at 10:30p my time, but since they ARE, it's not a referendum on Conan, just the studio doing studio things, so he needs to take a chill pill - he forgets what slot he came from.
"If God wanted us to vote, he would have given us candidates."
