Amaruil Introduction

Let me tell you this; I do not know how but luckily, in my search for a worthy RP Medieval/Fantasy forum, I managed to find this place after some time and I really am glad! I would hate to find myself in another forum that knew really nothing of role playing and all that it truly means. From what I could gather so far, this place looks more than promising. But enough of that, I should say some things about myself now.

You can call me Nina or Amaruil, if you wish, and of course I would not be here if I did not love fantasy and role playing. I am not what you would call a "geek" and I do not wish to offend anyone by saying this; all I am trying to say is that I do have a personal life and I will have to be several hours away from the site, if I have to. So there is that.

In addition, I am University student in Greece, and all you need to know, if you are indeed interested, is that I study English Philology and Literature. It is fascinating, or it would be more, if went to the place more often, but no matter; I shall manage, as always! I guess I do not have to say I am of female gender, since 3 paragraphs and all this useless blabbering gave me away, eh? Oh well. Go on then, judge me, if you will!

Here's the second one: If ye be looking to join 'The World of Medieval' (Custom Play by Post) then thou needest a minimum of 30 Constructive Posts within this here Community. Keep thy level of activity at 75% too, we be needed active adventurers here not those that sit and play with child toys. Get started, select a Board, a Topic and then share thy views until ye have yer 30 Posts under thy belt then return here and request RPGer Status.

Thank you all, I think I will try out AD&D since I prefer that kind of world, but I will definitely need some help there.

*My brother used to play D&D with several friends of his but, you see, I am a girl and as you know, girls don't usually get invited to play in those sort of games by boys... So I was always left to wonder how it works and all I could do to satisfy my love for fantasy, was to RP on the internet, several years later if I might add, on several forums of different themes.*

I did get to read the D&D manual some times when I got the chance, and always imagined myself as a cunning elven thief whose deity was Corellon Larethian(!), but that did not get me anywhere, I'm afraid. I guess I need to practice to get it right, since that is how I work. I know I am a newbie so, as tiresome or annoying it may be for you, I want your help in understanding some things and rules, in a respectful manner, if possible.

Welcome. I understand your need. There are many players in AD&D, perhaps you can ask specific questions you need answered in the AD&D Questions Thread here: Source 4 If you can tell them how much you do know then they can better assist you.

So, one final question before I retire for today.

I read somewhere that I need to make 30 posts before creating my character; does that also apply on the AD&D section or is it merely for the World of Medieval? If that is the case, then I will need to know where I can post and also to note that I will post again tomorrow. On the other hand, if I can jump right into making my character, you need to know that I looked around a bit and used the "AD&D 3.5 Character Generator For Players", as it is called. I must say it was very helpful for someone new, like me; I have already made my character.

To sum up: all I need to know is whether I have to make 30 posts before posting my character. If yes, where? If not, then I will post it right away before leaving.

As Horde said above you only need 30 posts and 75% activity rating if you plan to be in the World of Medieval. AD&D does NOT require this. Horde also gave you the exact link of what you need to play in AD&D: Source 6
