Is it alright to eat food cooked in beer? I think the beer evaporates so its just the aftertaste right?
From what I have heard, when you cook food with any kind of alcohol, the alcohol itself evaporates, leaving just the flavor of the drink. So because of this and because the main reason we can't drink strong drinks is because of the alcohol, yes from what I know it is ok, but if I am wrong please someone correct me.
I have a Brother-in-Law who always cooks with beer. Personally, it gave me stomach issues when I ate his food so I will never eat food cooked with beer again. I cannot speak for others but I would never cook with beer in front of others.
What you say is very true, we need to be an example, and I would never have beer in the house anyway. But alcohol like cooking sherry I think could be used and still allow members to be an example to non-members, because cooking sherry's is used only for cooking ,at least it should only be used for cooking, by my knowledge.
There is nothing wrong with it. Just keep it out of reach and out of site of the kids, until you feel they are mature enough to understand. This includes cooking with wine as well. Nothing wrong there, either. Just don't get drunk. Cooking with beer is great and I love it. And I highly doubt beer gave Frothnim stomach issues; more likely the power of suggestion gave him stomach issues or maybe his brother-in-law is a lousy cook. And the "Appearance of Evil" clause doesn't apply here. Once again, it is an issue of maturity and self-control; don't drink your mouthwash, don't OD on your meds, don't eat too much food, watch your language...By the way, Jesus drank wine...
