That seems like a very long time for something so critical. If you do not have water after five days then you're likely to not even be able to move properly to get to the drop points.

Doctor: Misinformation and Racism Have Frozen Recovery Effort at General Hospital in Port-au-Prince

"There are no security issues," says Dr. Evan Lyon of Partners in Health, reporting from the General Hospital in Port-Au-Prince in Haiti, where 1,000 people are in need of operations. Lyon said the reports of violence in the city have been overblown by the media and have affected the delivery of aid and medical services. Ref. Source 8



US Accused of Militarizing Relief Effort in Haiti

The US military has taken control of the only airport in Port-au-Prince and is facing criticism for diverting some aid planes. Doctors Without Borders says five of its planes carrying surgical teams and equipment weren't allowed to land and were diverted to Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. US forces also turned back a French aid plane carrying a field hospital. Al Jazeera English aired this report on Sunday. Ref. Source 9

Actually, after such a huge earthquake it is very common that an area may suffer of aftershocks of this magnitude or more for YEARS so unfortunately Haiti has many of these aftershock coming it's way.

Haiti did have aftershocks just after the 7.0 earthquake but they were not as destructive as the power in a 6.0 earthquake. What about the rest of the country especially the northern parts, have they been affected as much as the capital has?

Comments: Earlier today the BBC was showing two women that had to give birth outside on the street of the hospital because of the 6.1 earthquake.
