I would have to say that "The wheel of time"book 1 is the most boring ever, and I'm a fantasy nut.I know there is alot of people who enjoy this series,so let the bashing begin.
I dont like books that give major roles then the story ends, you go to get the next book and it's like reading a whole new series,is that some kind of joke?Anyway MOST BORING EVER!
I would say "Julius Ceasar" by Shakespeare. We're reading that for English right now and I can't wait for us to be done with it.
I don't think it's so much a Shakespeare thing with me, I read "Romeo & Juliet" and really liked it. I think it's more of the fact that I don't really like that genre... Not sure which genre it is, but I don't really like it.
As far as fiction is concerned I think some of C.J Cherryh's (sp?) books are quite dull. Sorry if you're reading this on a Search C.J.
I especially don't recommend the huge Faded Sun Trilogy, and I can't for the life of me remember what possessed me to finish it!
As far as LDS fiction is concerned I found The Freedom Factor very dull - it's a pity because it has an axcellent premise and potential and I do love the subject matter. Just wasn't plotted and ttold well. Sorry Brother Lund
Now, Dio, "The Wheel of Time", is probably the second most popular fantasy series out there (after Tolkien), and they are very well written. I guess you do have to be very patient in reading them though. The prologues sometimes stretch to nigh on 100 pages in and of themselves and each book of the continuing story is about 500-800 pages in length Lots of character, lots of cultures, lots of description, and perhaps only just a little bit slow on the action. They are for the dedicated

Argh, Julius Cesar. It's the only play I detest in the entire collection of Shakespearean works, and this is coming from a fourteen year old Shakespearean fanatic. First, let me point out one fact about it. There is no sex whatsoever in the entire play. No puns that might make a class burst out into laughter, no sexy allusions, nothing. Hmph. I have read it, however. I'm not just being a hypocrite, and I did find it boring.
I'll actually agree with Dio on the first book of "The Wheel of Time", but this is only possibly because I'm a sucker for fast action, and I felt that it was a bit draggy. I don't mind long reads, (I read six plays by Shakespeare in one sitting for a project, and enjoyed every one of them) but it's just that nothing seems to happen. So sue me now.
I tried reading "Julius Caesar" once. I never got past the first few pages.
Okay. Maybe that was because it was last year, when I was trying to start on Shakespeare... And that was also the book that made me put off Shakespeare for another year. Hmm.
I haven't really picked up a really boring book before, because if it's really boring I usually stop reading... But some classics tend to be rather boring. I never finished "Jane Eyre", for some reason... (yes, I know it's a good book, but I have something against Charlotte Bronte, so sue me)
If you wanna know the Worst book i've ever read is.... Actually, it was so boring I dont even remember the name, but I the first word being Horse... Well, after I read it I thought Dictionaries were better than that...

Has anyone read Shadowmancer? As in the whole novel?
The first couple of chapters bored and confused me so much that I found it hard to continue reading it.
Anyways, I was just randomly asking anybody who wants to chat what disappointing books they've read lately, the ones that got alot of press attention, but didn't live up to how good they were supposed to be?
