This is getting very interesting. If you have kept up with the trial at all, you know that there is some very good arguments on both sides. Allot of the prosecutions evidence looks very much like it was thought up after the original accusation. Also the fact that Michael Jackson had the chance to pay her off and refused looks good for him. I have reserved judgement on whether or not he is guilty, until he is proven either or. I will say that I have been a huge Michael Jackson fan my entire life and will be very disappointed if he did it. I also feel that he needs to go to jail, real jail, if he did it.
Today, we are supposed to have the victim testifying. They defense already knows that the boy has lied about some key aspects of the accusations. It will be interesting to see how this turns out. I'm gonna record the trial on court tv, at least the excerpts they have, and watch it tomorrow morning and see what I think then. But I will still reserve judgement.
Well aside from the current charges against him, I'd say that a majority of his behavior over the later part of his life is definatly bizare. With his surgeries and reclusivness I wonder about his self asteam sometimes. Being the king of pop hasent helped him in his personal life much
One has to wonder if Jackson was trying to avoid the court. Showing up with uncombed hair, pajama shorts and his father holding him by the elbow does not indicate someone that is serious about what is happening to him. Could he be very depressed? According to CNN.com:
"Jackson eventually made it to the courthouse, although he missed Melville's deadline by three minutes. Looking somewhat disheveled, with uncombed hair, Jackson was wearing pajama bottoms and sandals. He walked slowly, with a bodyguard and his father, Joseph, holding him at the elbows."
I used to think for sure he was guilty. He just looks so weird and acts it too. Pedophiles always find ways to be around children. They choose to become teachers, priests, scout leaders...they generally do things to put them in contact with potential victims. Well, Michael has this same pattern. Also, this is not the first time he has been accused. Seems like a pattern. Pedophiles can't stop their behavior and there is no cure.
After following the trial, though, I am not so sure. These witnesses so far have not been very reliable. They have already admitted to lying in other cases where they were attempting to collect money, for example.

Personally, aside from the fact that Mr. Jackson appears to be a textbook pedophile, I believe that he's mentally unstable. Unfortunately, due to his immense fame and wealth, he'll never receive the treatment he needs to help him. I haven't actually followed the trial, and I'm not up to date on the witnesses or the testimony so far, but his behavior is such that he's avoiding facing it, and/or in denial about the whole thing.

Offtopic but, I doubt than any other black man appearing late and in his pajamas would be tolerated in any court in the USA. |
