People magazine has not updated the story (caution) but according to TMZ, he is dead.

I was thinking the reports were true then of the many health issues he was having due to a genetic problem with his lungs.

MJ will definitely be missed! He really set the mark of what pop should be. All his merchandise will double now. I can't say I liked everyone one of his hits but some of them like "Thriller" are definitely on the top.
