As Geenie pointed out sometime ago, his shows are becoming more and more "dramatic" and Jerry-like than real serious and mature as was in the past. MONEY TALKS! I am glad the Spears family said something, waiting to see his reply. He seems like the proud type to me, let's see.

I am very disappointed in Dr Phil. I cannot believe a man of his intelligence would be willing to stoop so low. Britney Spears is in dire need of help and all he can think of is, the ratings on his show. There was a time when he was truly dedicated to helping others when he had a segment on the Oprah Winfrey Show. But ever since Oprah gave him his own show, I think the fame and fortune went straight to his head. But I cannot believe that he actually wanted to have Britney's family on his show under the guise of "helping her." I do believe that this will have a negative impact on Dr Phil. There are many people who are hoping and praying that someone will save Britney and help turn her life around. There are many fans who worship Dr Phil but now I am not so sure how they will feel about his latest faux pas. I predict that the Dr Phil show ratings will decrease significantly because people would not appreciate, how he is trying to exploit this poor girl, all in the name of boosting his ratings.

Britney cannot get help until she wants it... In the mean time, we will all be treated to a daily update of her brilliant downward spiral to "the bottom". Where ever that is... People love to watch a crash and this one promisses to be spectacular.
It is truly unfortunate but none the less true, that the public in general loves to watch Springeresque type shows. They love watching people less fortunate, more foolish and in general social outcast paraded in front of them. I myself has commented many times about "where do they find these freaks to go on this show and make fools of themselves", but the world seems to have a endless supply. Perhaps they feel better about their life after having watch a episode or two or maybe they just like the water-cooler fodder. I found myself watching for a laugh sometimes (it s a shame I don't get any of that fine television in Taiwan).
After all that said, Britney will only be able to be helped when she wants it and she doesnt appear to be wanting any help in the near future. None of her disfunctional family, papparazi or "friends" are going to convince her to get help, only she will determine that timing. Until then, enjoy the tabloids, because they are bound to get more interesting.

I know this will come as a complete surprise, but Britney was recently spotted purchasing a Answer home pregnancy test kit. Let's only hope that the kit actually has "Answers" to her behavior and future for the young pop princess. I so look forward to the creation of another Spears for future custody battles.

| Rather off topic, but... It is rumoured that Dr. Phils TV crew was just minutes too late to confront the perspective mother and her "at this moment" love interest. Instead, they will go to Vegas to have a Jailhouse Intervention with OJ! Also, as Britney made the purchase, the Rite Aid staff broke out into a spontaneous rendition of "Ooops you did it again". These rumours are pretty unsubstantiated, since I started them!  |
