I'm going to PoS for the first two weeks in september and I'm looking out for some places to meet local people. Nice pubs? Beach limes? Any hints?
Does the Zoo pub in Woodbrook still exist? I enjoyed it last year, since it was just around the corner where I stayed.
Grues, hi how are you? Nice to see have you here. Well, all I can say is that Trinidad doesn't have so many beautiful beaches like Tobago has but still having great beaches, you should go to Maracas Beach which is one of the most popular one (and the one that is famous for their shark and bakes dish! ) Las Cuevas Beach is other popular one . The zoo in town still there and its looking great! I was there a short while ago and I even had the opportunity to hold a piton snake around my neck! ;D It was cool!. There are also great shopping malls in Trinidad, the biggest one is in San Fernando (South Trinidad) called Gulf City Mall but you have plenty more in the West area too.
You can also make a lil trip around the small islands (you know there are small islands around Trinidad right?). Maybe somebody else can give you more ideas. I would just strongly suggest you being extra cautious with your money and documents (the crime situation in Trinidad is really bad nowdays). Hope you have a great time!
Hi Gruslayer,
Sorry to disappoint you but the Zoo Bar and Grill has been forced to shut its doors .  The neighbours complained of noise pollution >:(.  Was a really great hang out spot though.  Other popular spots in and around PoS are TGI Fridays (in the BP building around the Queens Park Savannah, Club Ambassador on Long Circular Road.  If you can get down to Chaguaramas, check out MOBS 2, and if you're looking for somewhere romantic, Crew's Inn is the place....... hey wait a sec.......... instead of me trying to list them all, check out www.discovertrinidad.com  Scroll down to the "things to see and do" section, scroll further down to "entertainment"  and click on "Trinidad".  Have fun. ;D
