AOL finally regains independence from Time Warner
NEW YORK (AP) - AOL resumed life as an independent Internet company Thursday as it completed its spinoff from Time Warner Inc. And closed the book on one of the most disastrous business combinations in history. AOL shares fell 47 cents, or 2 percent, to $23.20 in afternoon trading. Ref. Source 5
America Online / AOL is 25 years old now but they are struggling. For me it is the lack of forethought about the direction the internet would take people. I never did like there take over of Netscape to substitute with their own Browser.
I only use one AOL Product and that is AIM because it is convenient for my friends and I to communicate. I think that is one of the best products AOL has produced and I used to have AOL internet and it was dreadful. I can see why they are losing a lot of money because of the advances of technology.
