Comments: Well I don't know too much but after reading most of what was said I would think that living in Trinidad is like living in hell I lived there till I was 29 I saw my fair share of crime. But that has never stopped me from doing what ever I wanted to do it's just common scents if some were is dangerous you just don't go there I live in new jersey and there are places I just don't go simple as that if there is some stupid people you dont like stay away from them but to drag the place of your birth in the dust is just Disrespectful and shows how shallow you are .instead of bestowing some of the knowledge you have Acquired on at less one person to help them move froward you just dam the nation as a whole I love Trinidad and some day I will return but I am not going to some big show off like most people who come from abroad and make them selves a target the one thing that will get you kidnapped or killed is showing off and talking down to people I know take it from me I was poor and had noting thus noting to loose when I Listen to people like all you so it reminds me of those days when I wanted to join Baka that is a different story.

We are living in a state of denial
The issues we face in T&T are phenomenal. Everyone seems to be quite aware of this, with the distinct exception of the sorry pack of individuals who call themselves politicians. These issues need not be elucidated upon here, in the interest of space; perhaps why they continue is of more interest. Ref. Source 9
I'm lucky enough to live in a great neighborhood, have my own car, etc so I don't have to take maxi taxis or live in an unsafe area. I guess if you can live this way then Trinidad is a very nice place to live.

Comments: I am in Chicago right now but there are places here that I would not even think of going despite being in USA. When I am in T&T, it is the same way! Things are not as they were in the past. In Diego and Carenage where I would lime in the past, today I would have to think twice before going to a certain area so I do not blame people for fortifying their property against those who would do harm to them. I am abroad but Trinidad will always be my home because it is the mother that raised me to where I am today.
Like I have expressed in another thread, I am planning on moving back to sweet T&T in 2010.
Yes we have issues in Trinidad, but that can be said about just about everywhere. But things never stay the same, whether they be good or bad, they never stay the same.

Comments: This is an interesting discussion, after reading from 2002 to this last post things were not as bad in 02 as they are now. How ever I noticed that the woes are still the same! Its worse now its to the point of needing the the Army or coup to sort out this country! How can you all live in such a filthy place! Please for your life sake get out of hell!
