Spirited Away (Hover)
In the middle of her family's move to the suburbs, a sullen 10-year-old girl wanders into a world ruled by gods, witches, and monsters; where humans are changed into animals; and a bathhouse for these creatures. There is simply no denying that Miyazaki is the Godfather of Japanese Animation, time and time again delivering unto the public works of such incredible beauty, such stunning visual and sensory delights, such mastery of storytelling, that one can only be left speechless. Overwhelmed. Intoxicated with wonder. Such is the magic of Spirited Away.

Comments: This is a must watch anime! Miyazaki can teach westerners what it means to make a real animation. You have to see Spirited Away if you haven't already.
I saw it yesterday. It is not the kind of animation I would watch but given that the creator was so well known and awarded I thought I would give it a try. I also have Grave Of The Fireflies still in my mind as that was touching so I was looking for something similar in Spirited Away. Well, Spirited Away is all fantasy and possibly a lot of it is based on Japanese Myths. It was interesting but you will need a vivid imagination to accept it all. The visuals and movement of all the characters is very life like. I will recommend a watch of it if you like ghosts and Japanese lore. Do not expect anything touching although it does deliver a valiant message.
