MCDONALD"S TO CLOSE MORE RESTAURANTS

McDonald's Corp. posted its first quarterly loss and announced Thursday the
closing of 517 additional restaurants. Andy Serwer, editor-at-large at Fortune
magazine joined Paula Zahn Thursday morning to explain some of the reasons for
the company's decline. ""¦ People are still buying burgers [but] they've got so
many choices [now,]" Serwer said. "[With] Wendy's and Burger King, the
business is over saturated. For years McDonald's said it would not happen
[but] it has happened. There are too many burger joints in America. [There'salso] price wars. They've got the Dollar Menu, which is great for us, but bad
for them. There's also European beef hangover as well. People are still a
little bit concerned about mad cow."

People don't know better Why you will want to go to Burger King where you feel you're eating the cow alive! (yes, because they don't cook it properly!) or Wendy where the burger is the size of a penny!.
