I was watching a 60 Minutes report on Shaun White, the skate board king, about his prospects for the Winter Olympics. I was surprised to learn that he was born with a heart defect that required heart surgery. Additionally when he was 11 he suffered a fractured skull during a demonstration. After that he did not want to go into skate boarding again but his mother still encouraged him. Now Shaun White makes US$10 million a year and many awards and sponsors.
