Ogden baby dies; mother arrested

OGDEN - An Ogden woman is behind bars after police say she killed her 2-month-old son. Officers were called to an apartment at 449 27th St. About 5:30 a.m. Sunday on a report of a child who was not breathing, said Ogden Police Lt. Tony Fox. The child, Robert Hendricks, was taken to McKay-Dee Hospital Center in Ogden, where he was pronounced dead. Jewell Marie Hendricks, 25, was interviewed and told investigators she had smothered her son, Fox said. "She became frustrated with the child because he would not stop crying," Fox said. Ref. That is hard to cope with I wonder if she was depressed, doesn't depression hit around this time? I feel sorry for the mother and the child. I think more needs to be done to help young mothers cope with a new born the first few months.

Sorry for the mother? I only feel sorry for the baby she murdered! She should be in jail for life!

Yeah, I too feel sorry for the mother. She may be suffering from post-natal depression. Horrible situation. Poor mum and baby.
