Life in Trinidad suddenly looks very grim. The cost of living is high, unemployment is rising and the crime situation is out of control. We become so depressed and discouraged that we often hear ourselves saying: "Oh I wish"......... And unfortunately, nothing changes.
If you were granted one wish that could change anything in Trinidad and Tobago, what would it be?
Interesting Thread, if it could be any one thing then I would simply say that I wish Trinidad could have a compassionate or charitable society, because when a group of people are constantly looking out for the best interest of their neighbor just as they would themselves then everything else falls into place. Think about it... there would be no pushing, no taking advantage of people, there would be manners and people taking better care of themselves. Inflation would be nonexistent because corruption and greed would be unheard of and so forth.

My wish would be for a new political party to emerge and successfully take over from the present regime. This new political party should be genuinely concerned about addressing people's needs. The present government and current political parties are too caught up with race issues and embarrassing themselves before the entire country!
There are so many outstanding matters that need to be dealt with urgently: for example, health care is such a disgrace in this country; education: we need more schools and adequate security for the kids and teachers; crime: this is spiralling out of control and not to mention, it is affecting our tourism; food: people are literally starving because the food prices are ridiculously high; security: the police are very unprofessional, inefficient and too corrupted in this country! My list could go on and on.
