Shinoskay1 Introduction

I made an intro but when I tried to edit it I was sent back to the intro required window
Oh well...

So I am here to have fun, meet D&D'ers, I want to play in party games and some solo's, my char is going to be either a human, half-elf or halfling classed as sorcerer/wizard multiclassed with fighter. I'm more considering human for diversity since my char will be very divers.

I don't remember if it can be done but once my fighter - sorcerer/wizard (whichever I choose of the two) reaches level 6 each class I plan to add the class rogue (or thief, whichever name it has here) and then work on prestige classes for the three.I know in order to be a ninja I would need to be a ranger so I am consider that over the rogue or even the fighter but I want to be a conjure/combat plus an AOE and a few attack spells char. (alarm and lock altering spells def are a huge enticement to multiclass, as well as traps and death circle with perm spell.... Can someone say LAIR)

First, Hello welcome to International Discussions, I"m glad you could join use. I'm Thomaslee, (Lionel in game), and I would recommend, starting with either the wizard or the fighter, and when you level up to level 2 you can multiclass, also remember the more you multiclass the harder it is to level up.
I hope you have fun!

Introduction Shinoskay

Welcome, I hope you find many things here to keep your interest, both gaming and otherwise. There is a player-run AD&D play-by-post forum game going on right now in the Member Wars section, DM'd by KNtoran, and I'm the Party Leader. Feel free to check it out, and I strongly recommend you read through this FAQ I have put together for newcomers to avoid possible problems - game and main forum/site-wise.

Even as a pretty solid RPG enthusiast (though not particularly D&D), some of what you said just passed over my head sounding like so much Treknobabble - "What do you mean you'll reverse the polarity of the neutrino flow and adjust the shield harmonic decay pattern to compensate for the differential between the trionic pulse modulation deflector array and the interphasic capacitors?"

So far, the original core group of players have gotten 500xp just the other day, so I don't know what to tell you about timeframes or levels or any of that, but I am enjoying the game pretty well, and the players are creative, etc. and KNtoran is kindly taking time from his days to keep up the obligation he has accepted as GM, to keep things updated. I don't know about dual classing or prestige or ninja... Definitely have to check with KN to see how much of that he is amiable to, as I'm sure you know, not all GMs run with every rule.

I don't get solo RPs, never have. But they appear to be a standard option a lot of places, here too.

Actually JPatt as an For Your Information there happens to be a Ninja Class in the Complete Adventure. Anyway shinoskay1, I doubt that the GM will agree with your plan or my option, but at the same time it never hurts to ask.

Welcome to the forums. I see your interested in AD&D play. I use the 3.5 version if you are joining. I have accepted your character so your ready to play. I have no issues with multi class characters. Just remember every time you achieve a level you must decide what your going to level up in and add the required hit points from that class to your total hit points. Right now I do not accept the Ninja class but by the time everyone is up in levels I may reconsider that.

Make sure you look through the rules and if you have any questions ask them here.

ill remember that, no problems here... But as it has been a while I do wish to ask... I started as a sor instead seeing as I had to be level obe... I know that wizards require materials... Do sorcerer's too? and finally how does the spell system work? wizards auto have all level 0 spells. Is that because wizards can use any of them so long as he has the materials while a sorcerer can use any spell available in his spells list?

ive only played like three times and my cousins always told me I was too young but made sure to drill me with all the information they could... As a results I have lots of random bits of info still retained... That was when I was like 15 when they did that by the way... I'm 21 now.

A sorcerer gets less spells because they have a inate ability to make their spells work. SO you get a very limited number of spells. A sorcerer does not need spell componets. They get extra spells with a high Charisma level.
