I can't say I'm 100% against a deterrent for his kind of behavior. Maybe years in jail and a thousand lashes is a bit over the top, but it sure would cut down on a lot of the trash talk and lying you hear in any culture.

Seriously, I think my above statement, though exaggerated, really isn't off the mark, as I think the [REAL] reasoning, is the same - to encourage and if need be, enforce, a little bit of decorum and modesty in people, and maintain a sense of privacy and intimacy, and to place values on higher or other aspects than personal carnal or biological functions and instant gratification.
