The victim has been identified as David De Freitas of Seventh Street, Beetham.
According to police, shortly before 6 a.m. Several loud explosions were heard in the area and the victim was later discovered lying in a pool of blood mere metres from his home.
Officers from the Besson Street CID and the Region I Homicide Bureau of Investigations visited the scene and are probing the incident.
