What the hell? I feel like adding dialect here but will compose myself. Carnival is the best thing in Trinidad and Tobago, Only thing bad about it is what you all want to make look bad. Even we president does jump up and he has the highest office in the land.
Well, that time of the year is here again and Trinis are spending in fetes and costumes like never before. Even though it is reported there is a slight decrease in the purchase of costumes, recession has not affected Trinis when is time to party.
Rather off topic, but... The police commisioner said they will make sure there are police offers all the time, everywhere. And the question for me is always the same: Why for Carnival only? |

Today in the Express, Professor Courtenay Bartholomew wrote an excellent article about Kiddie's Carnival and its impact on the culture in Trinidad. He also made a comparison about Carnival in Trinidad, in Brazil and the high percentages of HIV.
I was reading in the Newsday how this new government plans to create a "free band" called "The People's Band". Basically, anyone who has a costume (old, new or homemade) can join the band for free.
I wonder how they will handle the security risks since it's going to be "free"? Also where are they getting all this money from? I thought the treasury was empty...
What is up with this idea Winston Gypsy Peters put out about having Carnival every 3 months is he mad or something?
