At present (January 2003) the nation's medical doctors are at a standoff with government over their contracts. They (doctors) refuse to work until the government talks with them. The government does not want to talk with them because of the 'representation' that the doctors have choosen as the negotiating party.
Who do you think is wrong? The doctors or government? Couldn't the government just sit and talk with whomever the representative is rather than have ill people suffer in hospitals or is it really the doctors that should just honour their oath and get back to helping the sick? The whole issue unfortunately is money...
:shady government says, "Just sign"
:crybaby doctors say, "We are poor"
Well, I understand both parties. BUT it's not fair that the Government do not want to speak with the doctors because of political issues, it's crazy!!!. A person who wants to become a doctor, it spends longgg years studying very hard to reach that goal and I think they deserve more money than they're getting, by the other hand, I don't agree with those doctors who don't want even attend emergency cases in hospitals because that goes against their own standards and promises that they made when they became doctors.
I think the Government should talk with them regardless of who is in representation, after all they have to think in the people not in their own interests.
