Trinidad - Leaving Your Bags With Security

Trinidad - Leaving Your Bags With Security

In most of the places I've been in the world you can enter a store with whatever bag or carrying stuff you have with you. No one stops you by the entrance telling you to leave your bag(s) with security. Conversely, in Trinidad most every store has a 'Leave your bags at security' policy. Now my MAIN question here, without going into tangents, is what do you think that says about the average Trinidadian shopper? I personally find it annoying, but maybe it is necessary because of too many shoplifters, therefore as they say 'Peter pays for Paul'. Your thoughts?

Security Bags Leaving Trinidad

Yes, shoplifting is very prevalent in Trinidad. It may seem like a drastic measure to take the bags from people but unfortunately that's the reality.
