Tired Parent Finding Support

Tired Parent Finding Support

Name: Mom

Comments: I'm a single mom with one child. He has autism. Some days I'm so overwhelmed. I call my parents to talk but they don't understand. They say I should do this or that but they don't get that its not the same when you have an autistic child. Its not like I can just get anyone to baby sit. Sometimes I just need someone understanding to talk to rather than telling me what I'm supposed to do. Its not like you do a couple of things and the autism is gone.

Support Finding Parent Tired

I understand the feeling all too well especially the part about people who do not understand. Depending on your location you might have some avenues though. The best thing would be to contact the local Autistic Society in your area and see what advice they can offer you. In the very least you may be able to meet other single parents who are facing the same challenges you are so you do not feel totally alone.
