Do not burst a blood vessel thinking about it, but is life more than fetes, partying and beaches?

Where else in the world would you get Ramadan, Divali, Xmas, Eid ul-Fitr, New Years, Holi, Hosay off and do not have to worry!

Probably in Guyana? Although these things are 'nice', are they really necessary? Does having so many holidays make T*T nice or does it just make the people even more laid back than they are already?

I think having so many holidays does not make Trinidad nicer but unproductive.

I took a while to find this thread since my main interest on joining was TTUTA.
I must say that I was very happy to see it.
Trinidad is a place where it is easy to find things to do regardless of your interests.
It's also a place where because we are still small enough, people do not necessarily have to earn a lot of money in order to enjoy life. There are numerous free shows etc.
Our taxi and bus service is excellent and travel from one end of Trinidad to the other is cheap and easy to manage.
Every dog and his father has a cell phone so we can confirm that communication is not only readily available but cheap, cheap, cheap.
We have freedom of speech almost to the level of the ridiculous.
We actually DO live in harmony with africans celebrating al of the east indian holidays and vice versa. Try to get roti skin on the day before Divali or Eid nuh.
Everyone has friends of every race or nationalityAnd as LDS_forever said, people are made to feel welcome.
That does not mean that there is no discrimination, then we really would be Paradise, but it's not a majority affair. Some politicians would like us to believe that to divide and conquer us.
There is more but I do not have time or space wink.gif

Definitely you and I are living in two different countries. laugh.gif

One of the nice things about Trinidad is that you do not have to worry much about clothing (what to wear the next day, etc) you KNOW is going to be HOT. Even when it rains, is HOT despite to see some Trinis wear jackets after the rain falls. *smile*

A good lime. Let's face it, a lime here and a lime somewhere else is just not the same. The beaches, a run round the savannah, stopping to drink a coconut, and eating some good curry duck!

What Nice T&T Trinidad & Tobago / Caribbean - Page 3

Let me think back to what made me fall in love with the place:

The various food....I love Trini Chinese, Indian, and creole fare. I love the snack food too...cheers and nut king corn curls are my favorite! Oh and flavorite ice cream.
The people....I am always treated so nice there whether its family, frens, or a stranger
The Lime...once its 2 or more involved its party time.
The jokes... Trinis always good for a laugh
The rum shop...good for a drink and some social commentary
The weather...sure all the Caribbean islands are warm but its something I love about Trinidad
The beaches...Trinidad is nice but Tobago is nicer.
The party scene....the clubs and lounges are great but the fetes are the absolute best in the world!
CARNIVAL CARNIVAL CARNIVAL...the best best best best laugh.gif
The laid back attitude...can be annoying at times but its also something I like.
The warmth and concern neighbors show each other....it can sometimes be described as "fassness" but it is good most of the time. if you and your neighbors are good you will never be hungry. My mother was bought up like that and I've seen her give food and clothes to our neighbors who didn't have.
Theres much more but thats enough for now.
