Hunger in Trinidad

:'(
There are so many homeless people in Trinidad that I cannot avoid to feel sad about it. Reading the newspaper about Argentina, I read that people cook in their homes and at night they go out and feed the people who are less fortunate. I would love to start doing something like that here in Trinidad. Any help and suggestions will be more than welcome.
Thanks

I hear you loud and clear and wish i was there to help in some way. In TRINIDAD & TOBAGO we have people who are hungry, in need of housing and clothes and people turn their backs on them like it's not happening.

As i read this, i am talking to a friend in Trinidad in yahoo right now and he has a restuarant and i asked him if he ever thought about feeding the hungry people and he said no. I asked him why and he said to me and i quote:
he said..... Nope. Why ?
i said..... why not
he said..... I have a business to run remember ?

I said to him.... yes you have a business  to run but there also hungry people  out there who don't have anything to eat
he said.....  so .
what do u want me to do ?
I said to him that once a month you feed the hungry
he said.....Take away from my time so that I too could be one needing food assistance.
Yeah. Right.

This is just to show you how heartless some people can be they think it so hard to give back to there community it's sad.

My suggestion to you is you can start by cooking food at your home  and putting them in those take away containers and give it to the hungry and homeless on the street. I wish i was there to help you. You have a good heart and i do hope that when you mention the idea to people jump at the chance to help you do this.

Anyone like that resturant owner is bound to fail. Watch their life. Even if they continue to make money you find that their life is very unhappy... watch and see. Money is not everything and it certainly cannot bring peace or happiness in your life, as these virtues can only be earned through giving peace and happiness to others.

I agree with you when you said the restuarant owner will fail that is true it is happening to him, he can never see his way and always complaining. It's a sin to throw food away when you can give it to people who are hungry and starving.

Churches, also  can start a soup kitchen, people give thousands of dollars in tides and offering and this is a way for them to give back to the community.

Trinidad Hunger

I have experienced both situations:

I used to work in a resturant where they threw away food on a regular basis. The satff used to plead with them to give it away but they refused. Their attitude was as cold as the food that ended up in the rubish.

I also belong to a church that gives a lot to the poor. Much of the food that is distributed in Trinidad comes from the church, but it is not known because the church does not look for fame in doing these things as it is supposed to be. I have also personally helped distribute clothes and beds for the same said church so I know they do that, well at least the one i belong to does.

Trinbago needs to give a hand instead of giving their back and then they will discover true happiness.

softnsensual, thanks for your message. It made me angry to read what your 'friend' said. It scared me also because if he would be my friend I would be really concern that if I have any need, he would be there to help me out.
But you see, he's not happy and he will never be. I see people going hungry and it breaks my heart!. I think I'm going to make a proposal and create something that will allow me to feed the hungry, who knows...it becomes really big and we can do more than just that. That is one of my dreams. I don't know where to start.  Any suggestions?. Hope to have good response from the people here in TT since I'm not a trini.
I cannot understand who can throw away food when there is someone at the door begging you. It's so so so wrong!.
Thanks for your message and have a great day! don't forget to give me some ideas  ;D
