
Tea Parties go global...
Friend of the program and British politician Daniel Hannan joined Glenn today to talk about the first tea party happening overseas in the United Kingdom. Hannan notes that while taxes are increasing in both the you.K. And in America, one of the major differences is that increasingly in the you.K. There is taxation without representation. Are there really that many reactionaries on the planet that a "movement" like this could go global? This could only happen in those countries where the privileged have existed for some time. I really can't see this going anywhere beyond a short lived fringe phenomenon.
America isn't the inventor of all although sometimes I think some of us are gullible enough to believe that. Most likely they aren't referred to as "tea parties" - different history - different country, but named by something else in alignment with their own political past.
