Atsirtany Introduction

I found this forum while looking for text based RPGs. I"ve never played one, but I thought it might be fun. I enjoy playing various types of RPGs and have just finished a short research paper on the social constructs that form around the online variety.

I"ll be going to university this fell (finger crossed), and intend to work on a double major in engineering and biological science. I think both fields offer skills that can be used to enact positive developments in the world, and, even through my mathematics skills are a bit low relative to many of the people I"ll be studying alongside, I think that I"ll manage. I also think the social sciences are fun, but I don't know what I"d do with such a degree.

Although I joined this forum looking for text based RPGs, it seems like an interesting place, so I look forward to exploring it.

So, Ye be seeking Adventure eh? Ye be one after meh own heart. Meh mates have cut down several dragons in times past and we be always in serious need of an extra hand fer deeper darker dungeons of brilliant gold. Friend, get ready, cause we got to test yer abilities.

Here's the FIRST one: If ye be looking to get started with Dungeons & Dragons Play by Post then go AD&D Rules for the Thread that gives you the steps (Check first Post) AD&D here allows you to start participating right away once your character is approved by the Dungeon Master.

Note: One of the adventurers wrote this helpful "how to" down fer thee, do have a read over of it eh'.

Here's the SECOND one: If ye be looking to join 'The World of Medieval' (Custom Play by Post) then thou needest a minimum of 30 Constructive Posts within this here Community. Keep thy level of activity at 75% too, we be needed active adventurers here not those that sit and play with child toys. Get started, select a Board, a Topic and then share thy views until ye have yer 30 Posts under thy belt then return here and request RPGer Status.

Welcome. Which RPG were you looking to participate in specifically?

Yes, welcome and make sure to look around if you're not sure yet quite where your interests lie, game-wise. Besides the games listed in Horde's post, there is currently an ongoing player-GM'd AD&D play-by-post forum game (right now, hunting orcs and/or meeting with the Duke), run by KNtoran, with me as Party Leader (unless the scalawags have usurped me), so you might check it out just to see if it looks interesting, though I admit right at this time, there is a little bit of players trying to get back into the well-oiled-machine mode we started in, but I imagine we should be able to get back on track without much effort. Anyway, if that sounds interesting, I'd advise your very first stop to be this FAQ that every potential/new player should read before posting and making characters for the forum game: Source 4 . I'm most interested in Dungeons and Dragons, as I don't need thirty posts to start playing it.The other RPG's look intreguing though, so maybe I'll eventualy get around to exploring them.

Congrats on creating your AD&D Character. The GM for AD&D takes awhile to approve characters, probably Monday is when he will get around to that.

If you do wish to be part of the other RPGs keep in mind that it is not only Post count that matters but your activity level as well. You should Post at least 4 or more times a day to keep it up. We have Topics about anything and everything here so it should not be difficult to do.
