A jury on Monday found a veteran San Diego County sheriff's detective guilty of felony assault and battery by an officer and two misdemeanor charges in connection with an attack on a prostitute in February 2008.

Thomas John Sadler, 49, was immediately taken into custody after the jury's decision was read. He is scheduled to be sentenced April 14.

Jurors acquitted Sadler of felony sexual assault and battery by restraint, misdemeanor sexual battery and felony false imprisonment. He was convicted of misdemeanor assault and misdemeanor false imprisonment. Ref. SignOnSanDiego.com
