Aive:

Aive's gonna follow Philos voice and if he runs into the hide flap he will attempt to cut his way through it.
Will give Philo a quick thanks by nod then call to his friends as he readies his second and last flask of oil.
Aive will attempt to tear down the flap and use it as a fan to fan out some of the smoke.

(Rolls by Me, in case they are needed.)
2d20: Unmodified (For attack against flap?)
20, 9
Damage rolls? Unmodified. (Dagger damage?)
6d6/2: 2, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3

Philo:

As Aive comes through the hide flap, Philo takes a couple steps backs and spreads his hands wide in a peaceful gesture, keeping one eye on the flap to see if anyone/thing else comes out.

"What is going on?!" he asks.

(Rolls by me, just in case.)
Spot check? Unmodified
2d20: 7, 4

Val:

Val continues to try to get clear of the obscuring cloud while fighting off the vermin, and protecting the smaller companion in the cramped tunnel. "Par'e and Mar'e never said there would be days like this, mon dieu!" says the Paladin, blinking and trying to use peripheral vision to see the skittering creatures better.

Aive easily cuts the flap down and begins to use it, trying to blow smoke out of the tunnel. Philo sees his nod of thanks. Suddenly the smoke clears and Aive stops flapping his flap.

Val grabs the rat from her back and throws it to the ground. Stepping on it as she moves forward. There is a crunch and snapping sound that comes from under her. The bite that she received on her neck from the dirty thing feels sickly warm.

Just as the smoke clears she sees the remaining rat bite at her feverishly as she passes by it. It lands a vicious bite on her leg and chops down again even deeper in madness. Val feels the teeth of the foul rodent touch bone she thinks.

Myranni concentrating on the still thick smoke is just about to pin it down as the pyrotechnics (2nd lvl) spell but the cloud suddenly dissipates before she can be sure.

Lwentano whips his sword about, but it is an action of futility. The tiny rodents clammer all over the area and he is unable to do any serious damage with one blade against so many tiny foes.

Lwentano must roll vrs. DC 12 Fortitude save or be nauseated for 1 round. The save DC is constitution based. Lwentano must roll vrs. Fortitude DC 12 or become diseased.

Val and Lwentano have taken 6 points of damage each.

The smoke is gone, everyone can see again. If you failed your save against the smoke the penalties still apply.

Myranni you can see a body laying were the spellcaster was standing before the oil exploded on him.

Val and Myranni you see one remaining dire rat attached to Val's leg and two dead ones laying next to you. One flat and mangled and one chopped in two.

The swarm of rats continue to climb around and on Lwentano.

Lwentano

Figures a rat would get me. I rolled a 7 on my saving through.

Lwentano continues to try to kick, slap, cut, and throw off any rats that may be on him.

Del

Wounds from rat bites can carry diseases like filth fever. I will tend to it if you like - although it may need care over the next few days as well.

Once the rats are gone he will clean Lwentano's wounds. When appropriate (I believe it is the next time he has to make a save) he will make the following heal check [Heal roll = 21 (13+6+2 for heal kit)]

Valdalen

Sir Valdelen finishes off the remaining rat(s) and slumps against the wall, moving forward slowly, sword point dragging a trail in the dirt, trying to get to Lwentano, to drive the remaining rats away. "Feel so... Warm..."

Philo

Philo cautiously greets the others as they regroup.

Aive

While the party treats/checks the wounds Aive would still like to head towards where the spellcaster was and check the threat is truly gone,
he will proceed with caution listening carefully, (no point hiding or moving silently while carrying a torch) He will use his mirror to look around the corner and if all is clear he will examine the body, loot it then retrieve his caltrops and report his finding back to the party.

10 13 18 7 unmodified rolls

Aive pauses for a second as he wonders what happened to his goblin friend and when regrouped with the party will ask Philo if he happened to see him on his way in.

Myrrani

Myrrani will cautiously approach the corpse of the spellcaster, wary of whatever it was that killed it.

Aive and Myranni approach the dead spell caster. His body is chared and still smoking. He is a young human about 14-16 years of age. On his body you find a spellbook but it has been burnt beyond use. A sickening smell of burnt flesh fills your nostrils.

Lwentano and Val have wounds that are infected with a disease. However treating the wound immediately has allowed them a good chance at shaking the disease. They feel much better once the wounds are cleaned and dressed.

Looking around the corner Aive sees the tunnel opens up to a normal sized tunnel. It stops 10 feet (south) in and turns once again to the west (right).

So the tunnel goes west (left tunnel) from the crossroads, Aive is standing there at the end with his mirror, Myranni just behind. He is looking left at the corner (south). The tunnel goes 10 feet then turns again.

I forgot to type in round four, I know we moved beyond it already I just want to put it in, to keep the game thread current.:

Val killed the remaining dire rat with ease.

The smoke cleared.

Lwentano is no longer plagued with rats, as they seemed to have dispersed into thin air along with the smoke.

The party is free to move about the tunnels once again. They head down the left tunnel again (north). Check the body of the dead spell caster and then cautiously move further into the cave.

GM Note: I will need the party formation when the party's actions are posted. Like who is in front, who is behind that person, who is behind that person, you get the idea.

I need to correct myself here. The tunnel is actually supposed to stop 10 feet west, and then turn north. Anyways the tunnel does a little turn (west) to the left, and then turns north again. Sorry about that I got my directions mixed up there.

((In order from front to back))

Aive:

Once everyone is ready if that is the path they wish to take Aive will go 1st, listening along the way and using his mirror at each corner. (until we find enemies or a choice in the road)

12 15 unmodified

Lwentano:

Lwentano will follow the others as we follow the tunnels to find the goblins that are said to inhabit these caves.

Philo:

After briefly introducing himself and helping the others as he can, Philo will offer to follow a short distance after Aive. He has his bow at the ready and stays close to the wall.

Philo is searching the shadows as well as looking around & ahead of Aive to spot any danger or anything unusual.

Unmodified rolls
Spot (+2): 7, 20, 18
Listen (+2): 6, 13, 14

Myrrani:

Myrrani will move forward with the others, waiting on a chance to help. She hopes they have chosen the correct path.

Valdalen:

Sir Valdalen Mechidieux greets the new stranger skulking in the darkness somewhat suspiciously, knowing why THEY were skulking in the darkness, but not the new person, but welcomes the help nonetheless, and prays briefly that it is a blessing from Heironeus.

"We must continue on, but I am somewhat light-headed. I can still swing my blade however, so lead on and as I clear my lungs, perhaps too my head shall clear."

((I think this order works decently. Rogue leads, Fighter backs him up, Then our other rogue keeps the middle with his bow ready for ranged support. Val, wounded and smoke-choked is at the back, covering our rear just in case, and Myrrani there where she can either support the front, or aid Val in covering the rear.))

The party heads west 10 feet, then turns north. Heading down the north tunnel (10') you enter a room. The room is 35 by 30 feet, ceiling of ten feet.

In the northeast corner of the room sits a simple wooden writing desk. On it are 20 scrolls rolled up and tied closed with twine. Also some blank parchments and a pen / ink. Wax from a candle has been scraped off the desk. A fresh candle sits on the desk were the previous wax was scraped off. Everything is very neat and organized.

In the northwest corner a pile of old clothes are neatly folded in the shape of a bed. A book (most likely the dead spell caster's) is lying on top the clothes.

A shirt is folded on top of something that is round shaped, about the size of a basketball in the southeast corner.

Nothing else of further note is seen in the room. It is bare except for what has been described and very clean. The stone is smooth, not jagged like the previous tunnel.

LwentanoWhile everyone is looking about the room Lwentano will actively search for any secret or hidden doors or passageways. IF he does not find any he will take up a post where he can cover the entrance they came in with bow to make sure nothing comes in while we are searching.

ValdalenSA: She stops and tries to gather her thoughts, then thinks better of it and concentrates, and tries to sense Evil in any significant amount, in any particular direction.

D20 ROLLS: 15, 3, 5

Aive Aive will search throughly for traps and any more valuables
18 search

Then Aive will be looking in the book (hoping its a spell book) then checking out the round ball like thing,

Also if the clothes are nice and his size Aive will take them to.
