Play By Post D&D Dark Calling Game - Page 17

Aive jumps out taunting the goblins. Calling them names and so forth in their native tongue. They look at him with curiosity but do not take the bait. They are to malnourished to be as excitable as Aive would hope. The goblins do however not appreciate the name calling and pull javelins from their packs taking aim.

Lwentano, Philo, and Myranni release their missiles while Aive ducks for cover, as the javelins sail in (fighting defensively).

I didn't have rolls for the oil and the plan did not work according to allow the oil so I am going with this action.

Lwentano's arrow hits the target and another goblin dies. Philo's arrow was not as true and bounces off a stalactite. Myranni's magic missile sails in and as usual hits its target, killing it.

5 javelins rain down on Aive's position but all miss their mark. He was able to take cover behind a stalagmite before they connected.

The imp however is much more precise with his stinger, materializing above him again. His stinger (nat 20) sticks Aive.

Same save as before, 4 damage +1 (I forgot to give you the damage for the last stinger) = 5 damage.

The remaining 5 goblins retreat randomly further into the cavern, behind stalagmites and into the shadows.

Missing with all of their missiles was not a moral booster. 2 of them remain seen but 3 have found good enough hiding places for this round.

Game Calling Dark Dragons and Dungeons Post Play

Aive:

12 on fort

Aive's gonna swing where the imp attacked from with his sap

still fighting defensively (-4 to attack +3 AC)
15 to hit
5 damage

Then tumble over to Val to see and help/defend


Myrrani:

Myrrani will cast Acid Splash at the imp.

Ranged Touch Attack:
1d20: 16-1 = 15 to hit.
1d3 damage: 3


Lwentano:

Lwentano will move about the room to see that all the goblins are killed. If he can see them moving he will fire at them with his rolls posted previously. Like stated before he will keep killing goblins till they all are dead.


Philo(Party Leader controlling):

Philo continues firing arrows at the goblins.


Del(Party Leader Controlling):

Attacks Goblins using the most effective means at his disposal.

Aive feels a burning enter his blood stream from the imp's sting (-3 dex). He turns attacking the temporarily visible imp. Aive's sap glances harmlessly off the many toothed grinning imp.

Myranni's mumbles some strange words waving her hands about. She conjures and hurls a ball of acid at the imp. The orb misses splashing off the cave rock, as the imp jumps backward into the air, turning invisible once more.

Aive tumbles over to Val checking her vitals. He sees that she is breathing but unconscious. He can see she is hurt badly and will need some time to heal. Her skin is warm.

Lwentano takes a shot at a goblin, Philo's target standing next to it. The arrow whizzes past the goblin and Philo's arrow sails past his target as well. The two goblins give each other a look, then run with the others. The party can hear the five of them scampering back further into the cave and then silence.

Del, entering scene from the tunnel (he was checking the rat corpses for some ranger reason) launches an arrow into the dark were he saw the goblins retreating. You hear a goblin whimper.

Page 17 Game Calling Dark Dragons and Dungeons Post Play

Lwentano:

Lwentano knows that the imp is somewhere above and will use everything he can to attack the imp. He will move about in the general area waiting with arrow ready for the imp to attack.

Still has attack rolls left.


Philo:

Philo will move towards Val & stand guard while the others do what they can to heal him.
Philo will be ready to fire if anything comes towards them.

Still has attack rolls left.


Aive:

Aive will wait and attack at the imp

12, 16, 11, modified


Myrrani:

Myrrani approached Val and looked around for the imp. She casts magic missile at it when she sees it.

Damage roll:
1d4+1: 4+1 = 5


Spells remaining today:
Level 0: 2
Level 1: 2


Del:

Del will rush over to Val and see if Val's condition is stable. If it is not, he will attempt to stabilize the Paladin's condition.

Heal Check: Unmodified because I don't know what Del's heal mod is

Game Calling Dark Dragons and Dungeons Post Play

The party waits now anticipating the imps attack, when it makes itself visible.

The imp appears behind Lwentano and tries to sting him. The imps stinger misses Lwentano completely as it now understands its being the sole target, darting back.

Aive jumps from the shadows taking a swing that misses badly, as the imp has moved back from its previous position.

Philo and Lwentano's arrows hit but glance off of the imp's devilish hide.

Myranni looses her magic missile and it hits the imp, fizzling into its body. The magic missile burns off some of the imps hide.

The imp hisses, "Get back here goblins or I will be feasting on your children tonight."

There is no sound from the goblins or any sign of them.

The imp is hovering about 7 feet off the ground to the right of (10 feet from) Lwentano, still visible. You see that some of the hide has regenerated at the spot were Myranni's missile hit.

Lwentano:

Lwentano will Keep loosing arrows at the Imp. IF he hear any goblins returning he will turn and fire at them.


Philo:

Philo will also stand ready to fire if the imp is in range or if any of the goblins show themselves.


Aive changes his tactics and attempts to grab the imp,

still fighting defensively, 16 on a touch attack, 15 on grapple, 1 damage
next round 11 to beat an opposed grapple, nat 20 to pin.


Myrrani:

Myrrani looses another magic missile at the imp.

Damage roll:
1d4: 3 +1 = 4


Del:

Del helps Aive hold the imp in place. ((I don't know the exact rules for doing this, so I don't know what to roll. Maybe just a +2 circumstance bonus to Aive's rolls or something, I'll leave it up to you.))

Del attempts to grapple the imp and is stung (3 damage + save vrs poison, fortitude check dc 13).

Aive jumps onto the imp and grapples it. The imp grabs onto a stalagmite and changes form to monstrous spider. Then climbs to the ceiling, once upsidedown Aive looses his grip and falls back to the cave floor.

Lwentano and Philo's arrows miss.

Myranni's magic missile hits with like results as before.

Aive:

Aive pulls out his dagger and throws it at the spider! 16, 3 damage then


Lwentano:

D20 with +2 base attack, +4 Dexterity bonus and +1 due to magical bow: 23, 19, 26, 20, Natural 20! = 27, 22.

Damage d8 +1 due to magical bow and +1 added damage: 8, 5, 5, 7, 11 from natural 20, 9

Lwentano will continue to attack.


Myrrani:

Myrrani launches another Magic Missile at the imp and sinks to the ground, clearly exhausted from the sudden drain on her magic. Some of the leaves in her hair wither and fall off, only to be replaced by fresh buds as she gathers her strength again and glares up at the spider on the ceiling.

Damage:
1d4+1: 1+1 = 2

Spells Remaining:
Level 0: 2
Level 1: 0


Del:

Del will fire at the imp.


Philo:

Philo will fire at the imp.
