Wondering the countryside, Apist Geako finds himself near a rather large town with a name placard reading "Klagek." The sun was beginning to set, and given that unnatural vibes that this area putout at night, under the glow of an ominous moon, Apist decided to enter the town, hoping that he would find peace and solace behind the massive cold walls.
Entering the town past the bronzed iron gate, Apist found that the local townspeople appeared to be dead. All of the civilians had large, dark sacks under their eyes, even the militia looked as though they were suffering from some peculiar aliment.
Deciding he wanted to check if there were some sort of negative energy upon these poor people, Apist went to the closest inn, bought a glass of the house wine, and took a seat. Knowing that the spell he intended to cast, Detect Magic, required verbal and somatic components, Apist took a seat in a dark corner of the common room.
Whispering as silently as possible, and making the necessary hand gestures under the table, while making note that none of the inhabitants were watching him, Apist let the spell vent throughout the room, Apist sat back and waited to see if there were something amidst.
Magic seems to be all around Apist. Floating about on currents of air as a mist.
OOgm: Nice intro, normally you would place your post in the party thread though. The party leader there will post everyones actions in this thread together, once everyone has an action. However of late the thread seems to have gone unattended. Feel free to continue posting here, until the others formulate their posts.

Sensing an intense magical aura, Apist decides to see if any one person may be emanating a strong and potent aura. Exiting the inn, Apist walks down the cobblestone streets. Passing by a few monolithically large temples to a variety of different deities, Apist finds that they seem to be strangely unaffected.
Passing a graveyard that appeared to be have a suspicious aura to it, Apist decided it may be wise to interstage. Grabbing his holy symbol to Nerull through his shirt, Apist asked his deity for guidance. Knowing that his deity, and in his opinion the greatest deity, had domain over Death, he would be the best to seek advice from.
Sitting outside the gates to the site of many graves, many of which seemed hundreds of years old from decay and the ravaging effects of time and the weather, Apist mumbled the sacred words of his god, hoping to achieve communication.
Kneeling, Apist's eyes are on the ground. He suddenly realizes mushrooms are the source of the magic he is detecting. Poised at the base of a statue he watches as a spotted mushroom *poofs*, releasing spores into the air.
Around the white spotted shroom magic becomes dense. It quickly rinses into the air. Becoming mutch like the mist he saw earlier.

Apist, being extremely fascinated by such a natural wonder, decides to examine this further. Sitting on a stone, Apist decides to focus and try to pull forth any arcane knowledge he may have on this [Arcana check: 18+7=25]. While considering what these strange mushrooms could be, Apist took a large vial from his backpack, and with a large and thick leaf, began to put a few into the container to be examined by a local apothecary, or someone who may have an iota of information relative to this problem. Apist also decided to visit the local temples, universities, and libraries to do some research into the matter as well.
Knowing he had a long night ahead of him, Apist decided it prudent to get a waking draft to keep him awake and aware, given that this wouldn't be the ideal time to doze off on the job.

Apist you are able to deduce that these mushrooms spores are core to what is causing the nightmares. Taking a sample you begin to research.
You find no library, but a church, and a dwarf. He explains the people afflicted with nightmares are under his care.
Once you reveal your discovery he shows you to his quarters, and notes.
You both figure that the dark are using the mushrooms in part of a spell. "I need to tell the council about this.", Grumar says.
Apist, standing a good two and three quarters feet taller than the dwarf [priest?], looked at him and said "What council do you speak of? I only just arrived and I have yet to find out how the local government works, and who I should get to know. Have you any idea as to what sort of spell has infected these mushrooms, kind sir?"
Looking around the quarters, Apist found that although the setting was humble and by no means extravagant, the fire with chairs next to it looked cozy, the half-full bottle of what appeared to be rum looked warming, and the bed looked as though it could fend off the worst of nightmares. Deciding it would be a good idea to eventually get a bit of rest, Apist asked if there were any spare chambers in this church. He said "you see, I have traveled quite a ways, and I am very tired. My feet ache and to keep going on in this state of exhaustion would require me to cast a feeble mind spell on myself [[points to whomever gets that reference]].
Apist also knowing that a sorcerer's work is never done said "if it is possible, I would also like access to any text you may have regarding this sort of issue. If you have anything on local lore and history, magics pertaining to this form of enchantment, herbology and potions texts that may have insight into how to cure the citizens, or anything else of importance pertaining to this matter, please allow me access."
Apist (please post in the party thread now, we are moving now):
Grumar is lost in his own world of thought and seems to hear little of what you say. He is muttering to himself under his long gray beard as he tosses a book your way. It lands on the table next to you with a thud and a poof of dust.
"The mushroom is evil, I can detect it even in the church.", Grumar huffs out while grabbing his staff and decorative hat.
"And I am sure now it is a key ingredient to the darks plans.", Grumar's body language is of worried expectance.
Grumar makes it clear he wants Apist to sleep within the church. He leaves the church shortly after their talk. The book he gave is on herbs, foliage, mushrooms, ect.
Aive your actions are noted.
Myranni:
You give a convincing speech and attract a large crowd. You feel confident your message was heard and received.
Lwentano you spot 2 sperate suspicious looking entities in the crowd.
1: Three hooded men in dark robes standing together.
2: Two drunk shifty men in street clothes.
The time is just before sunset. The weather is overcast so it will be getting darker quicker. Several bonfires have been lit in expectance of a darker night. There are noticeably more guards patrolling.
