Play By Post D&D Dark Calling Game - Page 26

Apist runs forwards, he is shocked and stops in his tracks. The Iron golem emerges from the black billowing smoke cloud. It is wielding the wagon handle as a hammer. The iron man uncannily is already in motion with the hammer, swinging it like a bat at Apist.

Apist is caught full force by the blow. His body shatters and flies threw the air, slamming into the stone wall of a building.

Lwentano's arrow hits the golem, a ping sound is heard as the arrow flies harmlessly aside. Lwentano, having experience with his bow and arrows understands right away that he poses no threat to his foe this way.

Myranni no priests are in front of the church, you open the church door and yell for help. You hear a priest call for Grumar.

The group of guards in the north have come down from the wall and are moving further south towards the golem.

The south guard group is enveloped by smoke, battle is heard.

You see the ballista and crew are frantically flaying about trying to get spiders off of themselves, they are covered in them.

Lwentano seeing that his arrows are not effective against this huge iron beast will head away from the golem and circle around to assist the south guards in their fight against the robed figures and any others who are fighting against the guards. His arrows he is sure will be useful there.


Myrrani calls again for Grumar. "Quickly! Hurry! Some wind, or something! Clear out that fog!"


After saying this, she turns and raises her hands, casting magic missile at the golem.

Lwentano fires his arrow, it connects with a masked figure outside of the black smoke. The cloaked figure cries out and grabs at the arrow holding onto it with its hand. The figure drops to it's knees clutching the arrow. You see it pull a potion from under its cloak and drink. The figure turns into smoke and starts drifting away.

Myranni lets loose her spell, the missiles fly and whiz about ultimately connecting with the golem.

Grumar runs out into the street still affixing his hat onto his head and straitening his robe. He then sees what is happening and starts chanting.

The golem is steadily moving forward. It uses its hammer on a nearby building smashing it threw the wall, then continues north towards the group.

Lwentano will continue to shoot at any one who is fighting the guards that he can see. He will try to keep a eye on where the one who turned to gas heads. Seeing that he turned to gas Lwentano secretly hopes for a gust of wind to tear the gaseous form apart.



Myrrani closes her eyes and cups her hands. Channeling the energy of her familiar, she conjures up a pool of acid in her hands, which she throws at the golem.

Game Calling Dark Dragons and Dungeons Post Play

The golem is getting frightening close now. It's steps shake the ground you stand on and your insides. It bashes another building along the street with its hammer. It will still take a few more rounds to get to you.

The battle going on in the black smoke cloud to the south is still being waged.
Some of the buildings nearby have caught on fire. Many civilians are running for their lives screaming.

The guards to the north have moved past you and are almost in base with the golem when they here a cleric call out to them. "Halt ! Do not move further we are going to attack with our god's magic, you will be hurt.", the cleric is waving his arms. You hear chanting matching Grumar's coming from inside the church. The guards stops angrily but remain in formation, ready to strike.

You feel energy flowing around yourselves, the hair on your arms and neck is standing strait up. A little bit of street dirt has come off the ground and is swirling around Grumar as he chants.

Lwentano cannot find another target outside of the smoke cloud. He watches the gaseous form as it moves behind a building some 50' away.

Myranni shoots a ball of acid at the golem. It hits the target but shows no immediate signs of damaging it.

The ballista group on the north wall are still fighting off the spider swarm.

Lwentano will move to a place where he can hopefully see the form before it turns back to a figure. IF he is a little late and sees the figure as a man again he will seek to shoot another arrow into him if he is able. IF he sees the gaseous form starting to turn into a person he will attack with arrows hopefully killing him before he knows what hits him.




Myrrani steps back further away from the golem, and waits to see the effect of the clergy's magic. She considers fleeing, if the golem proves truly indestructible.

Grumar is still chanting and preforming strange fluid dance like motions with his body.

The golem continues forward not wasting time with the building any longer. It is almost in base with Grumar and is preparing the hammer for what you can imagine will be a fatal blow.

Another group of soldiers to the south enter into the black cloud that has been steadily growing in size at all ends.

Lwentano runs to were he saw the gaseous form go. He rounds the corner and regains sight of the fog. It is now floating gently upwards, along the buildings wall (10 feet up).

Lwentano will move closer to the vapor while pulling out a water skin. When he gets close to it he will spray the form with water to see if that does anything to it.


Myrrani quickly brings up her hands, palms towards the golem, and flares up her magic in a frantic rush, casting Burning Hands at the golem (And anything else close enough behind it to get hit).
