Lwentano walks out into the street and up to the north gate guards. The three of them see Lwentano, showing that they recognize him. They wait for him to walk up and speak.

Lwentano tells them he has heard they were looking for him.

The guards ask Lwentano to follow them in a tone that doesn't sound as if they really are asking. Lwentano complies and the guards (surrounding in triangle formation) lead him to the north wall captain's quarters (located in a tower on the north wall).

Once Lwentano is inside the three guards leave and the captain asks him to sit. There is a firm looking wooden chair in front of the captains desk, Lwentano sits.

The captain looks at you firmly, "I am a very busy man of late so I will be direct. I am aware that the goblins have moved from shaderoot back to their caves and that you were directly involved.

You suddenly become aware of the large bag that looks loaded with coins next to his desk.

"I am also aware that you retrieved a journal of sorts that held invaluable information, not to mention your role in the battle that just took place. So it seems you are the man of recent events."

The captain shifts in his large oak chair, "I feel I should tell you what I know since you are tied to the well being of this town. Understand this information is for you alone, I trust you will be silent of it."

He pauses taking a shallow breathe, "Grumar and his clergy are going to be banished from Klagek. A high mage is here from the heartland and has declared in his investigation that Grumar is drawing threats to Klagek by his presence."

"There is nothing we can do about this it has been ordered by the heartland. Which brings me to why I asked you here. I am putting together a team of men for an important task. This team will go to shaderoot and collect gurtem's.

"The captain sees your confusion of the word gurtem's, "Gurtem's are little leech like worms that live under the forest. Normally they are of no use but recently they are highly valuable. The recent mutations put this town into a panic but Nibroc has claimed he discovered a cure already. It seems gurtems, when allowed to suck the blood of the individual, stop the mutation, reverse it even. Besides making a fortune Nibroc is having the citizens return the gurtem's once they die for a discount on a fresh one. This behavior seems suspicious and I have serious reason to believe he is up to no good."

The captain takes a deep breathe and stands, "Anyways there are those within the council who feel the same and have given the task to me to get my own supply. I have duties here that are far more pressing."

The captain picks up the large coin purse and hands it to you, "Before I forget this is your reward for your recent exploits. I'll give you some time to decide your answer if you need it."

The captain goes back over to his chair and sits.

"Whatever you decide you need to know I consider Grumar's banishment as a direct attack on Klagek. Without him here I feel blinded, Nargoz's death was a huge loss as well. This high mage Feroz is working with Nibroc I am almost certain. I'm also quite sure the dark are involved.", the captain leans forward.

"You would be wise to accept this offer Lwentano. At this point I see your only other option is to get out of Klagek and fast."

I just posted this two extra times, that was an accident, I am very sorry. My computer froze and I tried to reload the page twice.

!BANG! Sir Garasthar finds himself facedown in the middle of a street. "Ughhh..." He stands and takes a look around. He immediately kneels where he is and begins praying. Then seeing a nearby tavern heads there. Upon entering he walks to the barman and asks, "Good sir! I have no idea where I am and only know I am here for a reason. Could you tell me the name of the town I am in as well as the nearby surroundings?"

The patrons at the bar giggle among themselves, making jokes with one another about your polished appearance no doubt.

The bartender just stares at you while wiping off his bar. You notice his left eye is blood shot and very red.

The biggest guy at the bar speaks deeply, "You're in the third layer of hell Jack."
Laughter erupts from everyone in the tavern.

After catching his breath the bartender speaks pouring an ale, "Look we're only havin'' fun with ya. Your in the grand town of Klagek. We like it out here away from the hustle and bustle of the heartland."

You now look around and see almost everyone in the tavern looks rough and weathered.

The bartender sighs, "My name is Barath you are in my tavern, The Lucky Sprite. There are some dwarves living in the mountains to the east, about a week away. Other than that this is it. Our walled town is more of a large fort the only reason this town exists is to secure this area for the heartland."

Barath chuckles, "Boy you picked the wrong time to go sight seeing friend."

"Klagek seems like it's cursed by the gods lately. If I were you I would get out now before you catch something.", Barath goes back to work.

"Bah, 'Gods', there is but one 'True God'. The very one who sent me back in time! The reason I don't know, but I am here to help, and I will stay here until my help is no longer needed and then I will move on. Sadly I cannot time travel again, but the chance to serve 'The One True God' is worth anything! Know, what do you good fellows need help with, I am at your service."

After hearing out the Bartender and anyone else who says anything Sir Garasthar will order a simple glass of water and a room to stay in. He will sit quietly in a corner reading a fairly large book of his.

Lwentano will accept the mission and go with the group the captain picks to go collect these worms. He will ask that the guard captain will give him 24 hours to prepare before they move out? After Lwentano leaves the captains chambers he will go to a inn and get a room. Once there he will count the coins that were in the purse the captain gave him.

After the paladins speech the tavern patrons look at one another for a few seconds. Trying to gauge the correct response from one another. A few have looks of fear others anger. They seem not to know what exactly to make of the boisterous paladin.

Sir Garasthar (whilst sipping water in the corner) is interrupted by a man, "Hey, hey, ya you sparkles, I heard that the Klagek guard is taking on new recruits. You look like the fighting type anyway, maybe try there.", the patron seems hopeful and eager for you to leave.

----

The captain agrees and gives Lwentano 24 hours to get ready. Lwentano finds a room at the bear moon inn and stays the night. Counting the money in the large bag you find 2,000gp (It is the reward gold I mentioned earlier, not in addition to).

"I thank you for your services good sir, I will be on my way. May 'The One True God' guide your footsteps! It is sad that this time has not heard of 'The One True God'... I will be on my way." Sir Garasthar heads to sign on with the Klagek Guard.
