Valdalen pokes her proverbial head down a random tunnel while on her way to the meal chamber. Down this dim corridor she comes up on a pile of bones. Being in the explorative and curious mind she bends down to examine them. Valdalen finds a miniature carving from bone, of a bird in flight. (do you take the item?)
Later while dining, the group is asked by Amber to deliver 2 backpacks of books to Grumar. She also hands them 3 pouches (one each) of 100 gold pieces in reward for delivering Naylen. (Each player is now near level two, a few more battles and or delivering the books to Grumar will accrue this)
The night passes without event. A nice dinner with song and ale is presented. You socialize with about 11 other brothers and sisters of Heironeous. Then fall asleep within your rooms. Kayia decides to stay with the clergy, feeling at home here somehow.
The next morning you are delivered to the surface. The area is damp but the sun is out. In the sunlight you feel warm but in the shade you feel damp and freezing cold.
Please everyone roll 1d20 and 1d100. Make a note of the gold you have earned.

Gabriel remains silent during the proceedings. He follows along seemingly deep in thought.
Your travel threw Shaderoot is uneventful, though you do spot a bear mother with cubs.
You arrive at the southern end of Shaderoot tired and well past ready for bed. The farmhouse you stayed in prior enters your mind for a camping place.
You have about 5 hours till sunset but are too tired to make the trip to the Klagek north road.

Val and Lwentano look over at Gabriel, who has stopped walking. They see him staring south, arm outstretched pointing towards Klagek.
The group spots a large plume of black smoke rising up from the farm area between them and Klagek.
The party is exhausted, there is no way you can travel any farther today.

The party sets up camp out in the open beneath a large oak tree.
During Lwentano's watch he hears and spots roughly 5 Goblins walking northward from the south, towards the camp. However they will most likely pass the party from their trajectory.
What does the party wish to do?
Arrows fly from Lwentano's bow sizzling towards their targets.
3 goblins lay dead as dead can be.
The remaining goblins which now appear to be more than 5 in number flee northward, a few trailing limping along.
What does the party do?

So far I have actions for Lwentano and Gabriel but I need rolls please.
I need attack / damage rolls from Lwentano as he covers Gabriel.
I need attack / grapple rolls from Gabriel for his pin maneuver.
Val still has her action left.
I won't be able to post this weekend, sorry.
Gabriel runs at one of the limping goblins who is lagging the farthest behind. He tackles the goblin from behind dragging him down to the ground. Once pinned the goblin gives up little fight.
Two of the goblins stop to help the other limping comrades. One is killed instantly taking several arrows to its torso, twice dead before it hits the ground. The other manages to throw a javelin with near perfect aim, the javelin tears into Gabriels left leg (dealing 4 points of damage). Lwentano returns fire, the attacking goblin falls dead.
The remaining goblins retreat, while Gabriel retreats back to the camp, under the oak tree with the captured goblin. Valdalyn assists Gabriel, after launching a few stones randomly at the fleeing goblins, not trying to hit any but rather trying to make sure they are retreating. Lwentano also fires a handful of arrows at the fleeing goblins (though they are now near invisible from distance and lack of light). Lwentano you notice the goblins are running in the direction of the farmhouse the group camped in the first night out of Klagek.
Aive you hear all this happening but cannot see hardly 10' ahead of you. You hear everything the party has spoken and all of the battle sounds. You also hear the goblins talking among themselves as they retreat. A couple are cursing, one is commanding to run to the fort for cover, others are asking questions about the location of the attackers, how many there are, and other things of this sort. You figure judging from all the sounds you hear there are about 6 goblins, give or take a few. You also know the direction of the party members and the direction the goblins fled.
This concludes the first part of the goblin encounter (roughly 5 rounds / 30 seconds). 5 goblins dead / 1 captured / about 6 remain
