Grunting at the pain, Sir Garasthar kneels down and prays to his God giving thanks and asking for a continued blessing on the party. Then taking his dagger he will cut some cloth and make a field dressing for his wound. After this he stands up and says, "These centipede's natural armor seems pretty tough. Do you think a piece could be made into a shield?" If they think it is possible he will cut off a shield size piece and put it in his pack. Then he will follow the others in whatever direction they go. Before they leave, he asks, "Do any of you have any spells that can heal wounds?"

Out of Character:: I think it would be awesome to have a centipede shield. Sir Garasthar can't craft things, but someone might be able to. Could you tell me if I can and if I can, what AC boost it would give me?

Game Calling Dark Dragons and Dungeons Post Play

Hode produces two potions handing them to you, unaware that you were injured during the fight. The guards seem more focused now than before and address you with respect in their voice.

It is a potion of cure light wounds giving 1d8+3 hp back to you. A shield can be crafted from the centipedes carapace however you will need several pieces for it. The weight of the raw materials would equal out to 15 pounds but would not further encumber you in any way naturally. A centipede shield would act as a normal shield of its designated size, however it would be slightly lighter. The cost to make such a shield will run about double or 3 times the price of a normal shield.

Hode and Jash seems to be discussing what tunnel they should take from here. Minn is moving about the room pausing every so often. The guards finally decide on a tunnel and begin to move down it. Minn marks it like before and falls in line behind you.

The tunnel is going noticeably downwards and to the left. After only about 30 feet it splits heading to the right and left. Hode follows the left tunnel as it curves again to the right 10 feet in. You then enter into another larger chamber.

You can see at the far wall many small spherical shapes. Jash exclaims that these are what the party is looking for.

The guards move over to what you imagine must be eggs of some kind. They begin to place them into a sack when you here a familiar sound. Many clickings of what you now believe to be centipede legs are closing in and fast.

Another encounter is beginning. Initiative and actions are required to start. If you want your character to have drank one or both of the potions before the fight that is acceptable.

Out of Character:: Okay, can Sir Garasthar have gotten all the materials he needs from the centipedes before they moved. I mean, while Hode and Jash were talking about which tunnel they wanted to go into.

Sir Garasthar will Drink one of the Potions. He now has 11 Health. (For lack of a better word I used Health).
Initiative: 16
Strike: 24
Damage: 9

Minn drifts into the shadows next to the entrance. He springs on the first centipede to enter, stabbing at it's underbelly. His short sword easily sinks right into the creature. Minn gives the blade a few twists as the centipede hisses, falling lifeless to the ground.

Another centipede has climbed up the wall and is moving in from above. Hode rushes over and takes a swing at it. The centipede was moving to fast and avoids the blade.

Sir Garasthar however anticipates the centipedes next move and is waiting and ready with a swing of his own. The centipede takes the full brunt of it and falls to the ground twitching.

The next centipede to enter the room is met with a volley of magic missiles from Jash. It dies quickly before it can enter and is now laying on top of the first centipede. This jams the door preventing anything from entering or leaving the room.

You were able to gather enough materials from the centipedes bodies for the creation of a shield.

You do notice though that some struggle is being made by centipedes outside of the room to get in. You imagine they will find a way to remove the carcases sooner or later and be able to get inside once more.

Sir Garastar is willing to do anything the others want him to, but he is mainly focussing on the centipedes trying to get through the blocked entrance. He glances around to see if he can see any other entrances.

Play By Post D&D Dark Calling Game

You are unable to spot any other entrances. You here the clicking of the centipedes legs and see the top centipedes body is being pulled by something backwards and off of the bottom centipede. The guards are readying themselves for the oncoming attack.

The top centipedes body stops being moved after only a moment. You hear a few more muffled clickings of legs but then silence. Hode moves forward blade in hand. After a short while he pushes the centipedes body further granting access to the tunnels once more. You see no more activity and Jash voices speculation that the centipedes have retreated and are gone. It seems he is correct as Hode and the others move forward back into the tunnel and are not confronted by any monsters.

The party takes the new opportunity to move out of the chamber and back threw the tunnels to the first large chamber. Once there you begin to again here clicking noises as the centipedes have returned. From the sound of it they have returned in greater numbers.


Another encounter is beginning, initiative and actions are required. I also need to ask if you have chosen a mundane magical item. I was recently in the character thread and looked over your character real quick. I did not notice it before for some reason but I did not see one. If you have not chose a mundane magical item please do so. It can be up to 7,500gp but must be a singular item. Being that suddenly having a magical item appear in your inventory is a stretch I can have someone give you the item later once it is chosen.

Lwentano feeling better slowly makes his way to the tunnel entrance. Seeing the many spider webs he will make sure none are still around. IF he sees none he will enter the tunnel. He will try to catch up with the others.

Out of Character:: Oh, I guess I might have forgotten! Well, I have never had a magical item before, so if I don't get things right I might need some help. Could I have a magical set of chainmail? If I am reading this correctly a magic item with +2 is 4000gp plus the chainmail is 150gp. That means I would have an AC bonus of plus 7, I think. Could you tell me if this is okay?

Sir Garasthar will stay close to Jash and try to make sure no centipedes can get to him.
Initiative: 19
He will strike at any centipede that gets in range of his Greatsword.
Strike: 24
Damage: 12
