Lwentano will get up from nest and makes sure to search it in case any treasure is inside. He will light the torch to see and leave the cave after a good search. HE will now head south back towards the river. HE will take his time heading south to the river. He is wanting to make it back to town if he can.
D20 roll: 14
Lwentano finds nothing else within the cave. He is not disturbed, as he is walking back towards the river. Arriving at the river he now feels tired from the long trek.
Lwentano has healed 1 hp and is going to need to camp soon for the night.
I am guessing that Aliron was in fact testsubject1, perhaps incorrectly. If I am wrong I apologize but there are many similarities and little things I picked up on right away. Either way I think it is safe to say he has become inactive, I'll send him on his way.
I need to know how Lwentano is going to cross the river. If you plan on swimming with a log again that's ok, but I'll need swim rolls. It is going to be night soon so you may want to rest on this side of the river, rather than in Shaderoot.

Cliff awakens the next day refreshed. He is constantly being talked to by a fellow traveler. The guy keeps talking about his wife and how much she nags him. Apparently he is with the caravan only to be away from her.
The caravan is moving again shortly after a quick breakfast. In the middle of one of the fellow travelers rants, Cliff is witness to a peculiar and disturbing sight. The three horsemen are ahead a bit from the wagon, and seem to be talking among themselves, when one of them suddenly draws his crossbow and shoots the other one dead.
As the shot figure slumps over and falls off his horse, the other turns, spurring his horse into a sprint, running away. The man with the crossbow begins to reload.
Cliff gapes at the scene, and before he can make sense of what is going on he instinctively gets involved.
Initiative: 1D20+2=19
If he can, he tries to cast sleep on the horseman reloading his crossbow before he can get another shot off.
Sleep DC: 14.

Cliff gets the sense that his spell has been resisted. The man with the crossbow has reloaded and is taking up aim. The other on horseback is still sprinting off in the opposite direction. The wagon driver has spurred the wagon forward and is heading down the trail. The others on foot are drawing their weapons unsure of what to do yet.
It is now cliffs turn on round 2.

"Well, I tried the peaceful way," thinks Cliff, "if I end up killing him, it will be in defense of other people of the caravan, and I might get his horse as a reward!"
Cliff points at the horseman and a magic missile races out of his fingertip. Dice roll for damage 1D4+1=5.

Cliffs magic missile slams and sizzles into the crossbowman, he is unfazed. The man with the crossbow fires, hitting his fleeing target, it keeps riding barley.
The wagon is moving still, and the footmen are beginning to take hostile notice on the lone crossbowman horseman.
