Gefuth hears Aive calling and wakes, "Is it morning? I had a dream a giant monster with a head of fire attacked me. I killed it like a hero!", he speaks in goblin to Aive while getting down from the tree.
Gefuth grabs onto a low branch and hangs down on it, holding on it letting his body dangle. Then he lets go of the branch and drops to the forest floor. He scurries over and happily takes the chalk, smiling at Aive. He pockets the chalk hopping up and down a few times unable to hide his pleasure at more chalk.
"I think we are close to the river now", he says in common to the party, pointing west.
The sun is back out for a little while then ducks back behind a mass of clouds, then repeats. It looks like a decent day ahead weather wise and is around 8 am.
The party packs up their camp and gets ready for the trek to the river they must cross. They set out heading due west, reaching the river after a short hour. Blatuk River is about 250 feet across, it appears to be moving somewhat quickly, not to inviting.
Gefuth whispers to Aive in goblin, "There was a bridge when I crossed."

The party in search of an elusive bridge to cross Blatuk send their goblin captive up to scan the area.
Gefuth climbs the tallest tree nearby with surprising skill and ease. After a minute he comes back down with even more ease, almost ape like in skill and technique.
Gefuth shrugs, "I see nothing, only trees." Edited: Oliron on 13th May, 2010 - 6:02am
While formulating a plan for crossing the river, the party moves upstream. After a few hours they come upon what must have been the bridge.
A very makeshift rope bridge stretches across about 100 feet of the river, stopping at a tiny island of sand in the middle of the river. The only reason this bridge can accept your weight is that it has been crafted recently. After another week or two the natural elements will have deteriorated it to almost nothing.
You see another bridge used to stretch further west from the island, connecting the two sides of the river. However the bridge leading from the island to the west bank has been destroyed. What remains of the bridge twisting in the current, is still attached to the island.
The current here appears to be slower. 100 feet still remains between the party and the west bank.
Aive and Myrrani, you have reached level 2. I need posts with your HP rolls and new skills / spells / feats, ect, if any.
Whilst Lwentano is pulling in what is left of the bridge, discussing with Myrrani how exactly the plan will unfold. He sees that the bridge has a strong twine attached to its frilled end. The twine disappears below the surface of the river, it has a small drag to it. Almost like the twine is attached to something below the river, in between the island and the west bank.
OOG: I think I still need level up statistics from Aive.
After pulling up the bridge the party has discovered a twine attaching it to the west bank. Aive declares himself as an able bodied swimmer and dives in with his 100' rope. The current quickly takes him once he reaches the middle of the river. He is able to continue swimming but his rope runs short as he reaches the other side. Aive now on the west bank pulls in the twine attached to the makeshift bridge. A few more minutes tieing the bridge down to the stakes there and the party is ready to cross and continue on.
Gefuth points / mentions that his cave is north west and seems to be pretty sure of were he is now.
I assumed a little bit of what Aive was doing just to move things along. I think the general idea was pretty clear, you still have your 100 feet of rope Aive. Also I am wondering if the party will put the bridge back as it was or leave it up. Edited: Oliron on 16th May, 2010 - 5:57pm
It seems the consensus is to leave the bridge up. Though JPatt and KNtoran still have a vote. I am wondering what the party is doing now besides the bridge. What direction are you going to travel in? If there are some other actions you want to do, post them as well.
It is around noon, you are still in a forest much like Shaderoot, though it is a bit sparser and the terrain is more rocky. Having small stones covered in moss here and there.
The bridge is left in place in case a quick retreat is needed.
There is a hint of a trail leading northwest and another west.
Gefuth points northwest and claims that is the direction of the cave his tribe was in when the devils came.
The party heads west down the tiny trail. Soon the forest becomes more sparse, as the elevation begins to differ. You find yourselves going up about 50 then back down, at first these hills are small.
After 2 hours the hills have become much larger, trees few and far between. A positive, you note, is that the trail is easier to make out and follow.
The group maintains the formation of Aive in front and the others keeping look out. At one point on the trail you find droppings from what looks like a beast of burden, although you cannot be sure.
Another 2 hours pass as you travel, now in rocky hills. Coming over and around one particular hill you spot a cave entrance below, at the end of the trail. You are around 200 feet away from the entrance and can see no activity around the cave.
It is nightfall and the sun will be setting within the hour. Edited: Oliron on 19th May, 2010 - 8:41am
