Val experiences a mix of emotion, looking at the struggling captured goblin. Repulsion at the sheer difference from typical Man-races, fascination at the exotic, alienness, wonder at the motivations and intelligence and thoughts and cultures. Val pulls herself up to full height and addresses the goblin.
"Hold, cur! Sir Valdalen, Paladin of Heironeous, command you to submit to civil terms as a legitimately captured prisoner. Cooperation will see you treated adequately and humanely. " he says, cinching bonds around the goblin's arms behind the back, and orders, pointing to the ground, "Kneel and remain still", before turning to attend to Gabriel's wounds.
1D20: 15, 20 (not sure what I'm rolling for)
OOC: I guess someone should question the goblin but probably my char would not be immediately able to wrap her head around how to react, other than just acting through a scene like now
After many hours of trailing these goblins, Aive felt at least some relief when he saw the goblin's life spared and bound. It was not how he would have done it, but it will do.
His heart began to race now as he was taking a even bigger chance, a few goblins he could take but if this crew turned out to be raiders he was in for some trouble, but he hadn't the time to watch and find out.
He listened as they tried to speak to the goblin, and wondered how long his broken common would spare it its pathetic life, it clearly didn't understand all the questions.
With out any further waiting he pockets his pebbles and sling, unstraps his knife so its ready if he needs, kisses his luckstone then steps out from the bushes.
With one hand open at shoulder height, off to the side to show he isn't hostile and the other loosely at his side by the concealed knife he slowly walks towards the camp watching the man with a bow.
Halfway there he stops and after a deep breath he yells "greetings" then awaits cautiously for a reply.
Gabriel takes a sitting position, his leg hurting a bit. "We are not going to kill you, at least not until we feel we must. Now tell us, what are you doing here, and what have you done to hurt those in this area." Gabriel points towards the smoke, gives the goblin a hard glare, and keeps his sword in hand.
Sir Valdalen is taken aback by the goblin's gutteral words. He holds an armored hand up to his chin, pondering the pitiful, cowering creature. This wasn't at all what he was expecting from the grand adventure stories, and was in fact confusing. The paladin looks over as Aive approaches and calls out. He sighs harshly at the goblin, "We will continue with you later", and turns to the newcomer.
"I am Sieur Valdaen, Holy Chevalier of Heironeous, and we are on a divine mission from Father Grumar, stand to and make yourself known."
After introductions, Valdalen will cordially welcome Aive and suggest to the others, safety in numbers until paths begin to diverge, but will remain mostly distracted and let Gabriel and Lwentano worry about the details of who is where and doing what. Val wonders about the fairly swift mending Gabriel's leg did - near miraculous... hmmm. The Paladin looks back to the goblin in disgust. "Find some way to clean yourself, your stench is foul - you need fear not if you remain civil, goblin, do not overexcite yourself, we have a long way to go, and we need to know how to stay safe from your kind."
OOC: Testsubject/Aive, you should edit your main forum profile - there is a Oliron's Dark Calling section where you can change the info like we have, to show up in this game forum.
"Yes thank you Sieur Valdalen" Aive says with a gentle greeting nod.
"My name is Aive and I wish to be of no encumberance to you or your divinely mission. Infact I offer my assistance."
"Allow me to speak to the goblin on your behalf in its native tongue and I assure you I shall get all the information that we both seek and more!"
Aive will then proceed to greet everyone, one on one, with a quick Hello and perhaps a hand shake but will avoid any lengthy questions, shaking them off with a one word answer or a smile and laugh.
His focus always half on the goblin.
"We must be quick for I fear time is not on our side" and he motions in the direction of the smokeclouds.
OOC: Before relaying any questions I will attempt to make it more friendly with diplomacy. Rolled a Sense motive for a hunch if it is trustworthy, and a few extra incase any bluffs also before getting to close I would like to search it.
(all rolls already have all bonuses added. have I done this correct?)
Diplomacy on goblin 18
Sense motive 21 (10, 16, 20)
search 15 (if allowed close enough)
Lwentano watches the stranger approach with bow at the ready if needs be. He does not doubt he can place two quick arrows in the man before he gets too close. As he finds out that the guy is friendly he will lower his bow to a ready position. Once the guy starts to ask the goblin questions he will tell the others that he is going to scout the area where the goblins have gone. He wants to see if he can get a count on how many there are left.
As you question the captive I will scout the area and see if I can find how many still survive and where they are located. This way we may finish them before they can make it back to their stronghold. The less of them in the world the better.
"The Raven, I should have known this involves the devils. So from what he has already told us, they are only pawns, and not the real threat," Gabriel said, frustrated. He looked at the goblin in disgust, after it first relieved itself, and then fainted. A stinking coward indeed"¦
Gabriel walks away from the scene, and moves towards the farmhouse.
