Val will continue "his" action, switching to sword and shield if/when possible and engaging the creature properly in combat, along with Lwentano and Aive, and being very thankful for the nymph's invaluable arcane bolts of energy striking the creature as well.
Note sure if you needed more rolls from me (all unadjusted):
D20: 17, 19
D8: 7, 8
Lwentano will wipe his sword clean as he looks around to make sure there are no other creatures out ready to attack them. Once he is satisfied there are no others he will head back to camp to praise Myrrani for her assistance with the creature. He will look to Val and Aive telling them thanks for their help too. He notices that someone is missing.
Aive where did our captive/guide go? Did one of the creatures get him or did he bring the creatures here?
Val curses vaguely under his breath as he sheathes his sword. "He disappeared right before we were attacked... Either he was eaten first, and I doubt we'd be that lucky, or he saw it coming and didn't think it important enough to tell the rest of us. Or worse, he somehow had something to do with it. But even I don't think a simple goblin has much weight with a wild centipede brood. However it turns out with him, I'm much less confident I like being in this forest for any amount of time - it is far too dark, too cold and too open to things we're not used to creeping up on us. I think we were extremely fortunate that our new friend Myranni was there with the most aggressive magical armaments I've ever heard of woodland creatures possessing. Lwentano and Myrrani deserve to get some sleep, so I'll take watch when needed, and you too, Aive?"
Lwentano walks over to Myrrani and makes sure she has time to recover her spells as needed while the camp has a good pair of eyes watching the dark.
You did good back there and I am glad you had my back till the others arrived. I am glad you are with us in this adventure.
